This isnt my car, but im posting for a friend. I havt been in the car to hear or have a look at it but this is what she has said.

Totally stock 2003 magna exec has a problem on the front left hand side when braking or going over Bumps every now and then. The brakes have been checked, and the disks however they couldnt find any problem. It doesnt make the noise all the time, just every now and then! The noise a sort of banging sound is rather frustrating and i'd like to know if anyone can help me out with this

All help and ideas on what this could be will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Kyle.

i have seen in other posts that folks have replaced the strut top bearing (the part that bolts to the strut tower and allows the strut to rotate freely) around $150 or something i think and that has stopped the knocking. Other than that could be the shocks themselves, if they are worn they can sometimes knock.

When i put my Superlows in, i must not have tightened the top strut nut enough. Because after a month or so it started to knock over bumps and the like. Might be similar to what your friend is experiencing. All i did was take the ratchet to it and tighten it. Fixed it straight away.
