i asked the question in the second gen's forum but so far no response so ill chuck it up here to see if i get any responses.

i have a hairline fracture in my exhaust manifold and am looking at replacing it with extractors so i have several questing about this.
If i buy the extractors from the site can i put them on myself without a welder by using the bolts and gasket or do i need a welder?
Also what brand are the extractors from the site and are they reasonable or is there somewhere else where i could purchase them?
And do they fit onto the flexible join or do they extend all the way to the cat and can they connect to easily or is new piping needed?
Also do i need to replace the entire exhaust system or is the stock system suffecient to handle the extractors?
And lastly would it be worthwhile in purchasing the high flow cat or is the difference rather negligable.

You should be able to install them yourself if your mechanically minded, I dont see why you would'nt get an increase in power, but do you have an aftermarket exhaust as well???

Dont listen to him...

So long as you have a better air filter and exhaust than standard, extractors do make a difference.

no i have no other exhaust compnenets yet i was just checking whether i needed them or not but will be getting a pod soon.

im only really getting the extractors coz my manifolds cracked.

and so they do connect on to the stock flexible joint or does one get sold with the extractors?

also does anyones have a pic of their extractors in the 4 similar to mine?

Agreed - actually the 4cyl astrons really, REALLY benefit from breathing mods - so if you can get a set of extractors for a reasonable amount - id grab them... but it will really take off if you also put a pod and a cat back exhast system too..

well i was actually planning on putting the extractors and pod on next week when i get paid but i was just checking to see if the extractors off the site could be put on without any further modification to the exhaust system.

they can no problems. they join onto one end of your cat, and it doesnt matter whats on the other end, although a sports system would help.
