Ok guys im looking at a 380... choise i have are...
1. 2005 GT with 41,000 on the clock
2. 2005 vrx with 43,000 on the clock
3. Series 3 SX (new)
4. Platinum (new)

Also as the series 3 are out... would the platinum be the series 3 sx with extras or the series 1 or 2 sx with the extras?

im not sure which way to go hey so any input would be great. not fussed about leather just aslong as its sports seats and sports suspension.. if its got a sunroof hey bonus. cheers

Platinum isn't offered in series 3, it would be series 2.
There are other special editions on sale....although from the stats released it looks like the series 2 Platinum included more for free....
It was based on the series 2 SX with all the options thrown in.

If those are your four options and you can afford it, I'd scratch 1 and 2 from the list immediatley.

Why buy a car with 40,000+k's when you can buy one at 0 ?
Also with the 5/10 warranty, the '10 part' can't be transferred to the 2nd owner so you lose a large chunk of warranty.

My personal tastes say the SX, but that's just me :). You're the one that has to drive it everyday, go take a look and go with the one that feels right.

We're probably biased since we both own the Platinums :D
But yes, I'm annoyed that the 'metal' colour wasn't available in series 2 (if its what I think it is) because thats the colour I wanted ! ...oh well can't complain with black

Marty -
The SX series 2 and 3 are basically the same car. Series 3 has some asthetic differences. I won't call them upgrades because they're not better...they're just different.
So the Platinum is just like a series 3 SX but with a ton of stuff thrown in free.
You may be able to talk them down a bit in price, because its series 2, its technically now 'old'.

Then again, its always nice to have the latest thing..... :D

yeah tru hey. my father knows john hughes personally so im gonna speak with him and see what he could do. i looked on mitsubishi website and saw the series 3 specs but not the series 2. from what i can see apart from a bit of colour stuff the platinum got the sunroof, reversing sensors etc but does it have a strut brace like the series 3 sx.. i know its got the sports suspension and sports seats.
cheers

Sweet! Him him up for a good deal!
Series 2 Platinum (and SX in general) definitely has the strut brace.
I was specifically asking about it because the series 2 ES did not and I wasn't sure at the time which model the Platinum was based on. The sales manager explained to me it was based on the SX and showed me in the phamphlet where the strut brace was ticked in the SX model
hmmm that was a long pointless explanation :D

Ok update.
Seen dealer today.. no more platinums, but the sports in coming out which is somewhat the same but no sport seats. has got strut brace with sports suspension, 17" 6 spoke alloys, bluetooth, TMR rear spoiler, sunroof, black seat trim and sports badge. so looking at that probably chose sports over the sx. whats peoples thoughts on the spoiler? i think they look alright?

Just a note...there is no such thing as an SX in series 1. SX was part of the series 2 upgrade.
