Finished painting my consol..
please exuse the terrible photo quality.....(camera phone)
plenty more interior changes on the way... downlights are next....
it took a long time to tape up the cup holders so no paint bled in....
also you cant see but i accidently sanded back the ciggarette lighter port so i buffed it up to a shiney aluminium finish....looks trick as!

i want to paint the thumb button on the shifter.. but i cant seem to remove it... any help?

i photoshoped the whole inside of the car before i started painting and i really dont think it looks good with any more panels painted... i want it to look factory and neat.. not custom....and too much white is off putting and throws the interior out of proportion, also the top of the air con is a glossy black and it blends well with the glossy white

im now after some WHITE DIALSS

i probably wouldn't paint the shifter button as it is a high wear area and the paint will likely come off in no time at all.

to be honest.. as long as you dont touch it....keep it in the warmth (element heater)dont let dust get to it....and your able to put another coat within 2-3 hours...... and i was putting on some pretty thick coats....( make sure the heater doesnt cook your paint work, it happend on my first attempt, making me sand it all back)

you can do it the long way and wait for each coat to dry individualy its kinda risky cause being cheap paint it doesnt stick to itself.....personaly i think its better to do most of the coats first then leave it in the warmth (preferably sun) for like 2 days....then clear coat it....about 3 times..... leave it for another day or 2

and

SHIZAM.. you have a very shiny finish...

cheap but effective job..... fusion man inspired me....

i know what you mean, maybe you could remove the button and have the shifter trimmed in white vinyl or something. just an idea.

yes your completely right.. i tryed everything to get the button out but i couldnt so i just sanded it back a little.. and then found out that the whole button is red....
sooooo my plan is to eventually take it off and sand it back to BRIGHT RED......

you know like in the movies "dont bush the big red button" lol... something to exite the passengers about.. hahaha

i dunno what it is but i think it has something to do with the plastic our cars have....

my dash went perfect white... but the section with the (dimisters, heater, ashtray) went a little creamy coloured so just as i was about to finish up so what i did was...

-i just clear coated it,
-sanded it up a bit,
-then put 1 layer of white,
-then clear coated 3 times to seal the deal.....

it still had the tinyest tinge of yellow in it but THAT PERFECT for me... my body colour is MAWSON white.... so it matches the exterior

in regards to the paint i used....
$9.95 Spray Pack Gloss white (HOME hardware)
$9.95 Auto Spray Clear coat (HOME hardware)

nothing special man... but if ya wanna look really pro... sand it back, with no major abrasions/groves and drop it into your preffered car sprayer, get them to just wack a coat of 2pac over it next time they have to repair a white car.....MUCH NICER FINISH... SHINEY AS.....and ROCK SOLID....about $30 bucks

give it a try

catch

if i was patient i would have done that

yes i was being very cautious... every 20 KMs in the Windys i would stop and just put my hand on the road.. feel the temp....
and she was WAYYYYYY above freezing point... it was cruizy....

wow i never realised how much traction larger rims and a lower, stiffer suspension puts out...

yeah i have to agree, the top air con surround looks a bit out of place, and definitely get some white vr-x dials, they should finish it off nicely. other than that, looks like you have done a good job of it

i bought 3 little Green leds. wired 2 at the back of the ciggy lighter.. and pulled them through then pushed the console in and it holds them there quite firmly..

and with the third led i wired it into the headlights and mounted it behind the mitsubishi badge on the grill.. LOOKS NUTS...gives the chrome badge a green halo around it.....
and surprisingly it doesnt look ricey

Ok, i've cleaned up the 30 childish argumentative posts.
In a perfect world everyone would get along, however if you don't, please keep it to PM and not start a public abuse session, everyone has their own opinions, remember to respect someones opinion - especially if you're asking for it!
If you have a gripe, please take it to PM.

You'll each get a 24 hour ban, I'm sure you'll live. The reason behind that is because neither of you stepped down and you both continued to flame in the public thread. If you continue to bicker in public threads you can have a permanent holiday.

thanks for the comments guys
im reall happy with how it turned out.... looks great in person lol..

for those who are thinking about doing it.. i totally recommend the colour coded to your body colour
not so much the darker cars.
but it is very effective. and is easily noticed by bypassers OUTSIDE the car.

since ive had this car.... 2 of my m8s have gone and bought magnas.....lol
and my house m8 is picking up a black TS today...YAY..

P.s this is only the begining of my mods... plenty more on the way....
