Heres a q for the 380 experts. Is the 380 SX availiable with the new dual fuel system in Manual.

Best i can find is the alternative fuel faq on the MMAL site which says that LPG is available on all models bar manual VRX. Id really like to know because a Molten SX Manual in LPG with a set of VRX/GT tailights for be just the ticket to get me off the new lancer.

I was looking at an LPG conversion but didn't like Mitsubishi's stance on that.
Despite the fact they install it, it has a seperate warranty from the 5/10 - 1 year from memory...
If your engine suffers a problem and it is deemed to have been caused by the LPG system it is NOT covered by the 5/10 warranty !

One of the big reasons I decided to buy new was the big warranty, so why would I want to void it ? ...especially since it was MMAL doing the work on it !!!

thats the same as anything tho, MMAL are never going to cover a mechanical failure caused by an aftermarket componant! The engines MMAL use for their factory LPG kits have hardened valve seats over the standard V6 engine

Not sure if they have changed it, but last time I checked (3 weeks ago), you can still get a 380 platinum in manual. (mine is auto, and LPG converted.) The platinum engine is fully designed to be LPG compatible (hardened valves from what my dealer said), and was re-assured that the 5-10 warranty is still valid provided the correct LPG kit (SGI system) was installed through the dealership. Presumably so that they know other parts of the engine itself hasn't been messed with... It is only the LPG components that has a 3 year warranty. I think it becomes a 1 year warranty only if you have it installed directly by a non-mitsubishi dealer. ( I think the dealer just probably got a third party to do it anyway, but at least the warranty is on my sales docket as a "dealer fitted accessory"). So assuming that the LPG systems do not cause problems to the engine, which if fitted correctly it shouldn't... they should still honour the 5-10 warranty for non-LPG parts (engine and drivetrain) itself.

I just did my first service (1,500km) and had the warranty confirmed by the service department. On another note, I just filled up my first tank of LPG a few days ago for only $25!! :dancin:

Here's another option:
I've recently purchased a 380 manual, but it's a series 1 base model (now the ES). But the basic 380 comes with pretty much everything you need, and I've added a set of 380GT rims which I think looks pretty nice. All base model 380s are gas compatible so no issues there.

Just a thought, but would you be willing to consider a demo with manual? I'm sure there's gotta be a dealer out there somewhere trying to flog off a manual demonstrator model...
