Picked up a set of BMW horns off a '98 328i model earlier this week for $40 a pair at BMs R Us in Reservoir.
They sound a lot better than the piss farty ones that were on the Verada/magnas.
My advice is, if anyone is after a decent sounding horn set up BMWs are the way to go.
Definately a well Spent $40.

I picked up my original ones Brand New for less than 40 bucks, Madmagna knows why it's cheap heeheeheeheehee... :D :p Thank the World for cheap labour and cheap import prices heeheeheehee...
And yes, definately agree on the dual pitch tone, so much better than the whimsy Magna Horn LOL......

That means I need three, one on each side of the front bumper and one
next to the coolant bottle
was 40 bucks for 2 or do they come as a pair ?

Hi huys they were $20bucks each.
i'll take some pics on the weekend and show you.
The one next to the coolant was the same as the one in the front left hand.
so when i connected just one of the BMW horns is sounded like an air horn, but when i connected the other it sounded real deep.
I will try and post a before and after sound. My old mans KJ has got the stockies so ill record the sound from his and then mine and post them here.
John
ooh cant wait.
40 bucks for them not to sound pissy will be kewl

sorry john.. was meaning as in air horns take up too much room as you need to fit 3 trumpets as well as an air compressor. Wasn't talking about the bmw horns

Yeah i agree with John, triple air horns take up a lot of space, although they sound goood, the BMW horns sound better.
I fitted the air horn trumpets under the drivers side guard just behind the bumper and the compressor where the standard horn was, works a treat and no more pissy horn

Did you have to rewire for the compressor? A mate of mine put twin airhorns in his Magna and they worked fine for like 2 or 3 times, then nothing. The fuse and relay are fine.
Do the BMW horns work without ignition power?
Cause one thing i want is for mine to work without having to turn the ignition on...

That has nothing to do with bmw horns. Its how the mitsu horns are wired.
You'd have to change either the horn relay or the horn switch wiring to get
power direct from the battery rather than from accessories.

Well Bain, its the way the horns are wired up, its not the horns that make the difference.
