best way to kill the gearbox and tyres:nuts: :D
That's because on an uphill the car's centre of gravity shifts rearwards a little and takes some mass (and therefore traction) off the front wheels.

floater05 if you like taking your first gen over sand
I suggest you remove your rear discs and check sand hasnt got past the rear wheel bearing seal
clean and repack the bearings every time ok :doubt:

thats the first time iv been told to do that. iv only ever driven up the dunes once but i always take it to beaches and areas with lots of dry and mud.
how do i do this?
thebeast. maybe your car just doesnt have the guts to do that kind of thing anymore. yours a manual?

Manuals should be able to do so without worries. A tired engine or gearbox, or really, really good tyres means that you won't.
My tyres now fitted won't allow a burnout at all, but I could do a decent one on the stuffed set.

you undo the rear calipers and handbrake cable see tm-tp sticky
http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40090
then pop out the bearings wash inner hub and bearings out in petrol
and regrease repack hub and bearings wiht a good high temp bearing grease
if the cones are imbedded with grit or are gooved you need to replace both sides cones and bearings and seals

i've spent over $6000 easy...thats just parts, as i do all my labour myself including tinting, paint work, etc
reconditioned engine (including cam, balance shaft elimination)
reconditioned auto
cut rust out
paint
elite electrics (climate control, crusie control, power windows, auto headlights, power mirrors)
stereo install (about $1500ish)
weber carby
tint
shockers, suspension bushes, springs
brakes (reconditioned master cylinder, reconditoned calipers, new rotors)
wheel bearings
steering wheel
powersteering
retrimed interior with velvet/fluff
the list goes on lol
i pretty much drive a brand new car :p i originally bought the car for $900.

if you tried to sell the car. you wouldnt get the money back would you? but then if your prepared to spend the money on the car for your own personal enjoyment i guess that would make it all worth it
