Hey Guys

I have a very strange experience to share with you guys, i was in my tj vrx auto in a car park, and i was reversing with the tiller nearly full tilt to the right, when all of a sudden i hear a chrunching sound then a resounding thud!! But i just shrugged it off as full tilt knock or something.

Keep driving and at low speeds the steering makes a "whiring sound" like an electric motor recieving power but not being able to turn, so i pull into a car park and i find that when the car is dead stopped i cant turn the tiller without the steering "locking" and "whirring" like i felt a physical/mechanical resistance and in my mind i was thinking that a steering linkage was screwed or something.

I however did a couple of full lock circles, and the whirring persisted but the locking wasnt as prominent but still there. Driving back to my place to take the car off the road the tiller goes to normal and i am able to turn from full left lock to full right lock no worries.

Is this a problem anyone else has dealt with? it came and then it disappeared completely, i got my dad to drive it and he said it was fine, then i drove it and it was fine too. Very confusing but i hope someone can relate with me here.
