Hi all,

Rather than post this into the second gen forums where it would receive very little attention, I'd rather post here for a broader opinion. Anyway, I have got myself two KS door pods, these babies have red lights in them so when you open the door, they come on. Cool feature!

That isn't the point though, my query is wiring them up. As it is, I have the bulb wired in series with the door open switch. Works great if you only want the door light on and not the interior light, I however, don't want this.

What I want is to make the door light come on along with the interior light with equal intensity, so full 12V delivery to each bulb.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

should be able to tap into the interior lights power
all you need to do is find the wire

Erm... I have wired it up, except note that the wiring I have draws power from the door switches, thus when a bulb is added in series BEFORE the roof light, the roof light doesn't turn on, only the door light.

Here's what I have:
KS Verada roof lighting
Stock Exec wiring (one +ve current wire, one +ve door switch wire)
KS Verada door pods with lights

Here's what it does:
When door open - Door light only works
When alternate door open (Rear doors) - Roof light only works (decreased resistance in power wire)

Here's what I want it to do:
When door open - Door and Roof light working
When alternate door open - As above!

I'm really not that n00bish toward electrical stuff, but this baffles me.

Hi Lucifer,

you need to wire the new lights in parallel with the interior light, not in series,

as MR says, find the pair of wires going to the interior light and take both to new lights.

Return path may be through body shell, in which case you only need to find the live supply to the interior light and run this to new lights.

As the lamps are in the door, you may also have to earth the door top the main shell with an extra wire though.

Hope this helps.
