Hey guys, I'm looking at upgrading from my lovely JL10W3v2D2 to either an Earthquake Tremor 12 or a DD 512. I read about the DD 1012 but when i looked at FHRX's site there wasn't any on the price list so I assume they're old hat.

Anyone own either of these woofers and can give me any info?

Also I have read that the EQ gives tight deep bass but haven't read much about DD except about their other woofers which seem to be hard to beat, especially bang for buck.

No you can still get them. They are s**t hot! I wouldn't neccesarily say cheap though? There is a DD shop on the gold coast if you live in the area?

A dd512 is 400wrms and many can that thing hammer, i have heard one running of a dd c2a bridged to 750wrms (yes i know it's way to high but dd subs love being pushed)

maybe also look at the dd1512 for a lil over $300

i could be biased towards dd but with 2 9918's and 4 z1a's we have hit 161.8 db and havn't even finished the sub box and also drop from 16.5v to 10.5v on a burp,

which dd subs you after?

I have the DD 1012, which i love. Only let down at the moment is the box. DD apparently are designed for ported boxes, which is strange as they are EQ subs. (from memory what i read on their site).
Im shooting 450wrms through it, which is enough for it, but with a decent box, it will be much nicer

Yeah that's what they have splashed all over their site, they like their square ports too..

The sub I'm targeting is the DD1512a, if that's the RRP $319 one..

I don't really do cruises anymore, I'm lucky the boss let me go to autobarn! Well Capalaba autobarn since we live 5 min from Virginia autobarn but I'd rather buy car audio from KFC than that shop.

Well we went to Capalaba autobarn just to check things out. Dude gave me a price of $299 for the 1512 and said that Virginia autobarn could get it the same price, could you do me a better one ford fella?

I guess the biggest hurdles are A) Actually selling my JL to get the money to upgrade and B) building a box!!
