how much is there too it? apart from remembering crc on the bolts, buffing down the head and flange surface - and remembering the sealant and correct gaskets is there anything i should keep in mind.. :?

First of all I am moving this to the tech for the gen 1, i will leave a shaddow here for you too.

Go easy on the bolts, do not over tighten them or you will be up for removing broken studs.

Also there should be no need for sealant, if so use only sealant that will not harm your cat like Maniseal

no sealant..?, i was pretty sure it was needed on both sides of the flange gasket, i just didnt know about the head-to-manifold gasket

If the manifold is flat the compression of the gasket is fine.
