I needed to take my amp and sub out the other day for some extra space for something i was picking up, then when i connected it all back up, my subs were constantly doing a bassy noise like when u blow into a mic.

I turned it off, checked all connections it was fine so then i turned it on again. My amp turned on, did the same sound then just turned off. I turned the key off and then back to accessories, amp turned on, strange sound then off again.

I checked with another amp i have and it did the same bassy sound and quicky took it off incase it damaged the amp.

I opened my old amp up and noticed a big resistor near the fuse was dark brown. Is it possible that the amp damaged the decks RCA outputs ?

The other speakers on the deck sound fine.

Sounds like there's a short/loose wire somewhere dude, maybe in the sub box itself?

Do you have an old speaker around somewhere (that can doesn't mind being possibly overloaded to prove a point lol ) you can plug into the sub output from your amp? If that makes no noise the it's prob something in the sub (doubt the amp would have damaged your head unit)......

Id give that a go. tbo i wouldn't be surprised if its the subs they are just cheapy 10" Bezerk's

Cant wait to install my JBL's again. I have had them since 2003 and not ONCE have i heard them distort. I have had these Bezerks for only a few months now.
