Gooday, has anyone run a power lead in to the boot on a TL ?
What is the easy way to go ,down thru the fire wall on passenger side behind the glove box and under the mats to the boot?
Look forward to your suggestions.

never done it in a TL, but have in a few other cars and i think the best way to go would b through the firewall and down the passenger side of the car.

Punch thru the firewall behind the center console down near the footrest in the drivers footwell, then run it under the carpet, under rear seat and poke it thru into the boot.
This is what I did on my KE, the passenger side hole in the firewall is a pain to try to get through.

If it is for your engel fridge you wont want it straight power unless you have a battery saver device. Pullout the:
cig lighter surround (slpice into cig lighter power)
the centre console and internal bucket
gearshift surround
rear seat upper and lower
and run the cable thru the middle, under the carpet, under the seat and anywhere you need it in the back.
thats what i would with my fridge anyway.....;)

I did the same as Magtone (though it ended up in the back of a wagon, not a sedan's boot).

Wired from cig lighter so fridge is off when ignition is off. Wired with cable running through console and under carpet to underside of back seat. Then running alongside stock wiring into the back.
Runs a 35 litre 3-way fridge: they use LOTS more power than an Engel - so you'll be fine :)

Hi Mate,
When I did mine in my TL AWD company car I went through the LHS front wheel whel, then back under the covers through what I thought was a large gromet reserved for the LHD export cars into the cabin (I used this for the UHF as well). In the cabin I routed the cable under the trim that fits under the door (it is situated on the floorpan and holds the carpet down). I used the genuine Engel power cable to the battery.
Watch using the cig power as I think load may draw too much.
Hope this helps!
Check what fuse has been used for the cig-lighter because A) the cable may be too thin and if there's no fuse it will literally burn out when too much current is drawn. B) the fuse may be too low, if there is no fuse, put one in, simple, do it close to the battery so it's easy to get at also.
Your fridge will tell you what load it's putting out and if you don't use your cig lighter for anything bar a phone recharge every few days then pretty much you're set.
