Quick question for the mechanically minded.. got in my TP the other morning and couldnt get it in gear, and starting the car with clutch in fully, and in gear, car launches forward. Could be clutch slave cylinder? Playing around with the bit near the bottom of the gearbox, the clutch pedal sometimes falls to the floor, and sometimes springs back.. and oil leaking everywhere. Any ideas on price too if it is slave cyl?

Id be thinking either slave or master cyl, if the fluid is leaking into the footwell Id say master and a piston seal has gone. Other than that It could be the slave piston or either of the 2 fittings that connect the 2 cyls.

Master cyl is about $60 and slave $20 last I checked.

put your head under the dash peel back the rubber boot of the clutch master cylinder

and see if it is leaking there then do the same with the slave on the gearbox

check your clutch fluid level. my tp did this after i got a clutch fluid leak. my dad went to drive it one morning and it launched forward with his foot on the clutch. the clutch fluid was empty.
