so, i have been paying a lot of attention to veradas on the road now. i have a KH verada in a factory 2 tone paint (claret and silver - never knew this was an option for the car). its an Ei.

i have noticed that some verada are badges Ei and some ei, while there is also Xi and xi.whats the difference? is it just from a different factory or does it denote non standard extras are optioned on the car at the time of purchace?

nissan do it using the clubs, spades, hearts and diamond symbols on their 200sx. is this how mitsubishi do it?

eg. ei is a standard base model verada and the Ei has extras like photochromic rear and side mirrors? etc.

any answers? im confused:confused:

The lower case x and e were used in the R and S series veradas. From E series on, they
are all upper case X and E. Thus KR/KS Veradas come as v6xi and v6ei. KE+ came with
either Xi, Ei or 3.5Xi and 3.5Ei. Then later GTV, GTVi, AWD and GTVi AWD.

You're splitting hairs there mate, the badge could be different because perhaps it was applied in a different factory, old stock, or perhaps the original fell off and required a new one (crash, bad adhesive) If it says Xi then it's probably an Xi :)

Nissan also used K, Q, A, J and some other letters for their pack levels too.

i know that i have had a silvia since 1995

thats why i thought that mitsubishi has a similar system - ei, EI, xi and XI.

would have thought the rada owners here would have been curious enough to try and find out rather than just saying it could be new badge stock, or the old one fell off etc. there must be a reason for it.

I've been a verada owner since 1997 and trust me, no difference between xi and Xi or ei
and Ei. Again, AFAIK, the lowercase x and e were used in KR/KS veradas where the KR ones
had angular font and the KS ones had italicised font. KE onwards used uppercase x and e
with angular fonts.
