hey all,
ok i was on a seek and destroy mission for rattles and vibrations in me car and i came across this little thingo, at first to my delight i thought it was a power aerial that wasnt just plugged in but dad sed that it wasnt that, but he didnt kno what it was

it looks like a little motor and the arm moves downwards to the position shown in the 4th pic then goes back up, then i thought it had something to do with the petrol cap release but i got dad to pull it and it poped but not because of the little thingo in question.....im stumped

its in the boot on the left hand side lol

It's for the electric aerial as far as I can see.

it cant be, it only moves like 60degrees clockwise from horizontal it dont make any full revs
and look near the bottom there is a length of steel cable connected to it that seems to pull it down, then it just springs back up(3rd pic)

looks like a cable attatched to it, follow it, i'd say its a fuel door release.

i was replacing my ariel on the weekend and i saw it too, its the servo motor for the boot release. while looking at it use your remote boot release. and it will move. its basically an electric motor, when it rotates it pulls on the cable leading to your boot lock and opening your boot.
