lets say i was to trade in my car and the current TJ awd engine is busted, i can get my hands on a cheap TE/TH 3.5L engine

will it bolt into the awd no hassles?

i know that it will be less power etc... but the car yard wont know, and your not going to be able to feel 3kw difference 147kw vs TJ awd 150kw

anything else to look out for????

Should be fine, as the AWD system would be part of the gear box, not the engine.

Apart from your engine number wont match the registration details..

since the engine is less in capacity i'm pretty sure aus-wide that it is acceptable to do that swap without having to get it engineered.

Umm, isn't he going from a 3.5L engine to a 3.5L engine, the extra power is probably just his computer anyway.

The KE/KF/TH/KH 3.5 used different Cam profile aswell, it will run however, and once you trade it in, who cares if it blows up.

What you going to do with the blower?
