As I'm in the market for a series III 380 I thought it a good time to start a pricing thread...

My first visit to my local dealer - ask for a quote on the ES Sports and am told this long winded story on how there are none available for months, sold out, yada yada here is a quote for a VRX - $41k driveaway.

Wow great offer - NOT!

I've now got my fleet guy onto it through my company's preferred Mits dealer so we'll see what comes out of it. At least I can scratch my local dealer off the list and venture further out into the burbs....

PS. The cloth trim on the ES sports is very ugly...the series II SX was much nicer, as is the series III VRX.

It was as if the Mitsubishi press release advising the ES Sports would be available July 29 was incorrect and I should ignore it...being a salesman myself I just laughed and walked out with my VRX quote - NEXT!

Thats all you can do, I mean sales is a tough job and I feel for those guys, I couldn't do it.
But when you know what you want, and have done your research the best approach is to be honest and forthwright.

i live out here in emerald queensland, i walked in 2 the local dealer this arvo wanting a price on the s3 380 vrx in black with the leather trim, the salesman scoffed at me. then came out with a price of 46 thou and offered me 6.5 grand for my 03 tj2 vrx with only 55 tho on the clock. so i used a few choice words and jumped in my car and took off.

What are the specs of the Series 3 sports edition, Is it just the base model with the extras they say on the add. sunroof mags etc.

Though sales peole's first qoute should be RRP, Dont stop there, tell him want you want ( always go lower than want to pay), and let em work hard to get it for what you really want to pay. I would do this this at few places (any dealership, any car) just to watch how they go about about it.
A way to get experience, they do this every day and have systems in place and practiced monologue.:roll:

BTW the MMAL website has the 380 series 111 with sports pack For 28,990 + free onroads on thier website under retail offers

my parents just brought one of these it comes with sunroof, swaybar, rear spoiler, sports badge and sports suspension.
