Hey,

I've been having this problem lately where, if my car had been parked outside after a heavy down pour, I go to hop in it, only to find that front passenger side footwell is wet - sometimes so wet, that its actually a small puddle in there.

Has this happened to anyone else? Where's the water coming from? I've tried having a look around there, and its got me stumped.

FYI: Its a 99 TH Sports.

Cheers for any input!

It'll be your windscreen seal. If you take the wiper arms and that black plastic plate off, you'll be able to see if the seal is breaking/has broken down.

Cheers!

I thought it might have been the windscreen seal and also the second panel covering the air inlet for the fan, but I tried sealing the windscreen and it still happened. I might try sealing that second panel under the windscreen seal, fix the windscreen seal AND check out the grommet situation!

If the seal along the top of your plenum cover is not in good condition then replace it. When you pour warter on your winsdcreen does any get on the fan hole cover underneath.

If your plenum cover seal looks in good condition but the seal doesn't press against the windscreen, check that the two plastic push-on clips underneath are seated in their holes in the metalwork. If not, they may be lifting the plenum cover off the windscreen.

"but I tried sealing the windscreen and it still happened"
What did you actually do to seal the windscreen ?

cool.. I will have a check.

I only used some tape to cover it all up as a bandaid fix to see if it made any difference, but it didn't.

i had the exact same problem, it ended up being one of those rubber plugs going into the fire wall, i had removed it to install my power cable for my system, so i just siliconed it up, works great. you might want to think about changing the sound deadening materal under the carpet i couldnt dry it out properley with out cutting it out, so i just ended up putting some new stuff there, plus it was starting to stink.
