I've finally modded this totally stock white carby TN Magna, the first out of several owners to sucessfully do so. I'm only starting smallish. It's got the high end console from my wagon, a carby overhaul, and I've got the plugs and sensors for the digital dash conversion. The trouble is, I left my workshop manual at the Pick A Part.

There's also a few other mods done, but they can wait until later for announcement, the most important, is the car's almost ready to be presented for it's Certificate of Roadworthyness.

Wise man said: the journey of a thousand miles begins with a broken fanbelt and a leaky tyre.

I'll keep people posted. It's not quite Casper, it's more of a restification.

You'll do fine man. I got my rwc the other day, it's quite a feeling to know everything about your car is in ship shape, and doesn't blow any smoke. :)

Yeah, that's true. Mistreat it, and all hell breaks loose, too.

Came bac from the roadworthy today. The list isn't too long, but there's a couple of big ticket items in there, unfortunately

1) Middle Muffler leak
2)2x Bottom Ball joints worn
3)Steering rack leaks
4) 2x Front brake hoses
5)CV boot L/h inner
6) Exhaust support bolt missing
7) Front struts
8) Trans leaks
9) Loweer control arm bushes x4
10) Front exhaust pipe
11) Rear shocks leaking
12)LHF door rust (patched it, but it probaly requires replacement
13) RHR window winder (broken Jesus clip)
14) Hsndbrake adjust
15) washer wiper motor weak
16) Brake pedal pad

The difficult ones are the shocks and struts, brakes and bushes, the rest I can probably do myself.

items 12, 15 i call bull****, besides its not a real roady i cant see wiper blades there at all

to be fair most failed items if they broke would see your ass in a black plastic bag so dont take it to heart too much, never looked into the struts do they come out as one unit no need to compress?

Yeah, I was planning on renewing the suspension when I could afford to do so. The windscreen and wipers were only replaced a little while back, hence they're fine. I wanted it to pass genuinely, though I hit a flaming bollard this evening, so that requires repairing too!

Doesn't matter either way. It just got written off. I'm fine, the guy at fault is fine, the Magna performed perfectly.

Whats wrong with the metallic paint?

Cave walls have better paint. The metallics fade, go chalky, or the clearcoat goes funky.

And whats wrong with auto's?? (the tp is supossed to be one of the strongest that mitsu made(so ive been lead to belive), alot of ppl with turbo convertions go for the tp box over say the vr4 , well a few ive seen)
mine is very smooth and has never had an issue and it's been given the boot a few times:D mind you the box and engine are about to hit 130xxxkms. Plus i do the oil and filter every 2nd engine oil change(i think it's all down to the fact of matinance, if it's been looked after then it will go for a hell of a long time, but a soon as it starts to be neglected then little problems start to pop up).The only issues i have with my magna is wear and tear items and you expect that after 17yrs on the road. engine oil i do at 5000kms
