Hey All
Just wondering if anyone has encountered the problem of both their front courtesy lights not working?
Ive checked the fuses, all seem to be fine and replaced the bulbs, but still doesnt seem to work
The car has central locking (factory), so im just wondering if that might have anything to do with it at all?
Thanks all!
Does the central locking still work, or the power windows? I'd be looking for a broken wire.

So possibility that a wire has busted in the door? Would it cause both to stop working or just the one? Found it odd that both arent working!
Might have to be a weekend jobbie when ive got time to pull the door trim of and have a gander

It's possible, do the mirrors, CL and windows work?

in the door frame are two rubber covers and under that switches these corode and dont give a good earth
the rubber perrishes
also pop off the door trim and see if the wires have condensation in connectors
then check the wires between the door hinges if these lights are in the door
wd 40 and clean the earth contat or replace the switches
if the bulbs and fuses are ok that will be the problem

thanks magnabuff, tried the switches today, removed the covers, checked the contacts, sprayed the mechanism with wd40 and the wire contacts with switch cleaner and did nothing!
did it on all four doors for the hell of it!
looks like it could be a busted wire in the door somewhere!
the front ones dont work off the door, they always have power through the ROOM fuse. i'd take out the holder and check the wire behind it for power. the same wire that powers those lights also powers the map lights in the middle of the roof.

just so you know, spaying them with wd-40 is not a good idea if anything will make the electrics wosre cos it's oil based.
When cleaning electric/connections and the like you need to use something lke contact cleaner for high end electric like computers, car etc etc.
dick smith sells it for 12 bucks a can, and it leaves no residue behind.

thats what i did chief - sprayed a very light coat of wd40 on the spring mechanism and used switch (contact cleaner) on the electrical parts
got the switch cleaner from dick smith actually, which is where i work :P
