Is this an easy task that you can perform with a paperclip or a jobbie for the pros?
Just curious to see if everythings ok!
Tried a quick search, but came up with nothing

You can check the fault codes with an analog multimeter, set it to DC volts then measure the voltage pattern across the 3 and 4 pin on the ecu diagnostics plug. I've got the patterns with their corrsponding errors in a workshop guide, i can scan and upload them if you want.

i found using a red led was easyer to read codes than the analog metere just count the flashes :)

1)Turn ignition to run, don't start the engine
2) Attach timing light/multimeter/led across pins 3 and 4 on the ecu diagnostic plug, the bottom two pins.
3)Each code will begin with a three second pulse, followed by five pulses of either 1.5 or .5 second duration and ending in a three second pause.
