Yeh they put it in some ridiculously small car. The guy was like, don't put it above XX volume or you'll blow your ears up, think they installed a warning light when the spl got dangerous too?

this thing sells for about $10-15k, requires anything structural to be upgraded, and doesnt deliver the spl figures u'd expect (i know tim will say that wen he gets here :P )

you would have to spend more on converting ur car to handle all the bass so u dont blow the windows out and not to mention all the mono blocks you would need to run the thing and like 0 gage wiring it aint worth it just get two or three 12"

they retail for $20,000 Aus. they are also giant dog bowls.. couldnt get loud to save their life :P

they are a hell of a lot smaller in person that they look in Pimp My Ride, and have pathetic suspension on them. they can be bottomed out with 1 hand, without putting too much force on the cone :S

they seal the boot off and use that as the box, its got 5x 1200 watt amps powering it as well as three batteries. its also got a digital spl meter in the cabin that flashes red when its too loud :nuts: Like who would use that?:bowrofl:

that box the made for it was a complete joke, it wasnt enclosed, and it wasnt even infinite baffle.. it was a board put in front of the boot, with giant air holes all around it. those pimp my ride morons wouldnt know quality work if it slapped them in the face.

depends on the car.. after years of abuse a competitor over here managed to recently pop the seal on the windscreen of his van, using 6 9512's and 12 Earthquake D5000's. hehe

once more amps arrive we will be running around 60k into the z's so i'll let ya's know if we can pop the windscreen seal :badgrin:

You should chat to the guy in WA who did up his Mitsu colt ( the old one of course ). He was only running 1 older DD 9915 and 4 concept amps ( 10kw total ) and cracked 161db on termilab and 169+ on Audiocontrol. He has braced his windows cause some little cracks started to open up.

Yeah it will be better with the Z's. Maybe you should look at putting all that gear into an older Fiat Panda. Apparently on of the best acoustic cars stock that is made.... They cost about half of one of those subs:bowrofl:

well we can't be that bad since we hold the australian record for our class, and i would love to know about this guy in wa as there is no meantion of him on termlab, got a name links pics etc? pandas are loud cars but so are honda civic wagon's which is what we use, and we did the 161.8db on 10.5v so i think that once these new batteries arrive we will be louder again

he was also at autosalon, his daily beater sports 8 10" subs, 4 Crossfire CF-602A's, and a sexy set of USD Horns :D

keep an eye out though, he is about to be bested by a new SPL beast in WA, the piglet has a few hefty toys coming its way atm, and its after records with a vengance :D

Pandas are the loudest cars in the world for street classes, namely street A, where 0.8cuft per sub is optimal, not so ideal for running a wall however

Yeah I'm sure it is. Ill try and find the thing I read on it and post up the specs. From memory he used forklift batteries to bolster the power supply. The car is ugly.. but loud.

Far out Ford fella, that is a mighty effort really @ under 11V. If you can get it up to a stable 16 or 18V I think you will get very loud. Personally I think anything over 125db is loud. You guys are insaine!!:bowrofl:
