Now i just wanna know what the sports/vrx have over the exec in terms of power, and is it possible to bring an exec up to a sports with aftermarket parts?

You would only base your decision off looks/condition. As far as the cars go engine wise, they are the same, the Vr-x is abit more powerful from a higher flowing muffler, easy to replace on the exec.

so a free flowing muffler on the exec would give it a 6kw gain??

i did the same with my ralliart.. got auto coz i CBF waiting for manual (it had to be white with sunroof too)..

needless to say, manual ones popped up for sale just weeks later..

and i got sick of auto..

...a 04 TL VR-X in Black, which is what i want...You've answered your own question. The 04 TL VRX is what you want. Anything else will just be a compromise. If you can afford it, I'd wait.
November is only 3 months away - it'll fly buy.
I bought my damaged Ralliart in May, it's now 3 months later. It's been bought, delivered, repaired, etc. but it's not on the road yet. ...and that 3 months has flown by.

i would go for the VRX

Go the VRX... the nicer interior, seats etc will keep you happy much longer. You will regret not getting it later.

Interior is much better on the TL VRX's... got the black and silver mesh that I have in my car. Looks MUCH better than the exec interiors. Just hold out man, it'll be well worth it.

I'd go a TJ...purely on looks because IMO the TLs look horrible.
But if you want the TL, as has been stated dont settle for second best.
