Hey Everyone, Sold my Twin Turbo TS recently, now i'm the owner of a TF Magna Executive.
123,000 kms, 5 spd V6.
I haven't really started modding it yet, just replaced my old Pioneer deck with an Eclipse one(CD5415), replaced the standard boot garnish with a chrome Diamante one.
I have a few Questions.
Number 1, There is a very noticable tapping noise coming from the engine bay, sounds like sticky tappets, however if i put my foot on the clutch the noise goes away, once i release it, it comes bak.
Number 2, Will TJ rear lights fit on the bak, or will i have to change the boot.
Number 3, Also for the SA AMCer's where is a gd inexpensive place to get an exhaust done, i can get a TJ sports muffler for over $200 Genuine but i think its a bit steep, only want a small growl nothing like my old car "full straight thru system with 4.5" cannon"

hay mitsi-boi
the tapping noise sounds like the throw-out bearing in the clutch
bad news if it is cos mine started doing it a while ago and i havn't found anyone that sells just the bearing.
a new clutch kit has the bearing in it but your lookin at $800-$900 for the clutch +labour

You will require the boot aswell unfortunately.

yeah cos i wanna change the TF rear lights, but those clear ones look **** plus they have no reflectors, but i like the TJ altezza dark and chrome ones. oh well have to think of something else to mod. i think soon i get a KH Xi grill.

Another option that looks good on these is a set of TH tail lights, MASSIVE improvement over the TE/F tails and reasonably common aswell. And straight unplug/plug in job too.

You reckon go the TH lights aren't they basically the same as TE-TF ones just have a longer reverse light section, i was even thinking doing KF lights for something different cos i kno KH ones are hard to find.

You know what I just realized what the problem with my car is. I was about to tell Mitsu-Boi that my car has had that sound from 154,000km till its current 182,00o with no probs.
But wait, there is a problem. My car has problems taking off and being pushed hard, its causes the car to throw forward or cough and spit. I always though, its a fuel problem i.e. injectors-fuel pump whatever but just as I was writing it now seem really clear. The bearing has finally screwed me and this is what the problem is.
If any one can confirm my sudden realisation, please do. After all this time... I could hear the problem.

my old mans mate was one of the head mechanic / problem solvers at Mitsubishi Tonsley Park. he is coming bak to Adelaide in October i think. Anyway he will kno pretty much wats going there, so JarRah i can let u kno then even tho thats still a while away LOL
Also i am wanting to kno if i debadge my boot will there be Clear Coat where the badges were. Cos on my old TS there wasn't and i had a nice section with no clear coat there.
And ANOTHER thing does anyone hav any sound clips of there exhausts. Preferably only 3.0ltr ones. there is a certain sound i'm after but can't really explain it. Sorta like a R33 but not quite

For removing the badges, when you do it you need some eucalytus oil. I debaged mine (check profile for close pic) and after the badge comes off you just use the eucalyptus to remove the badge glue and it should come up dandy.
