Is there a specail tool to get the front window speakers outta my TR cause im sure ive tried every tool under the sun...?
Or do u think it would be better to just disconect the rather than replace them?

Disconnect them and use the ones you have in the doors, 4 inch speakers are ****.

The covers just pop off, best tool is a metal skewer.
Then they just unscrew and unclip, though i advise using an L or Z shaped screw driver, it can get tight in there.

i replaced mine, was a stupid idea, coz speakers dont even fit, they sit to high, and being a 4in they hold little power so now they've blown as well.

use a socket set, works a treat, once they are, stab them with a screwdriver and throw them at a wall

You can just cut the plastic that goes inside the hole,it's only there to hold the standard speakers, can fit any depth you want.
4" speakers aren't pointless, in fact in my TR i had them running just on highs (kind of like big tweeters), and it sounded pretty darn good with the 6"s in the doors playing midbass/mids.

An easier way to do it is to cover your air vent so no air escapes and the pressure should push them out for ya.........
You believe me don't ya??:bowrofl:

The factory spk is 21mm mounting depth.
I always put 6's in the doors on 2ng gens and make panels to hide where the pocket was. looks alot nicer as well
