Worn bearings, off-round wheels etc will also cause wobble and vibration at certain speeds.

go back to where you had the wheels done ... and get the wheels rebalanced

I had exactly the same problem with a wobble at approx 40km/h, and no amount of wheel alignments or balancing could fix it. It was so bad the steering wheel would vibrate from an 11 oclock position to a 1 oclock position. Finally when it came time to change the tires (they were a set of Dunlops) to a set of Goodyears, the wobble went away completely

I'll never use Dunlops again

i have to take my to get done. i get a very slight wobble at 100/110kmh, but if you accelerate it gets much worse. you can cruise at 110kmh and it won't do it, but the moment you put more load on it, like going up a hill it gets much worse. could it be a worn balljoint or something similar?

You realise a weight on your wheel could have come off, it was just reapplied when the new tyres went on because they had to be re-balanced

infact thats probably exactly what happened... OR when you bought the dunlops the person who fitted them didnt balance them properly..

You might be right, but I had the tires balanced about 4 times and wheel alignments done 3 times during the life of the tyres, so I'm hoping someone may have picked that up

If They are cheapie tyres this could be an ongoing problem. Try rotating the tyres front to rear, if there is no change you are looking for a mechanical fault (eg driveshafts, etc), if it has changed it's definately the tyres. Also interesting to note that Dunlops and Goodyears come from the same factory.

I bought my new rims and tyres. $1200 pretty good deal for 17's....:D

Then the dramas. Had to go bac 8 times. wobble 110kmh, after the 3rd time they found the tyres were no good changed 2. went back 2 more times and found that a brand new rim was
"out of round" 3 more trips and i had a brand new set of $40 dearer tyres all round, problem solved. :D
They road tested every time and still had problems.... I knew there was nothing wrong with the car, they came up with all sorts or reasons why it was. lol

Half would not know a wheel brace from a crow bar if you hit em!:bash:
