Hey all
This forums is friggin awesome, I'm always browsing... learn so much. I think I'll be a mitsi user for the rest of my life (I'm 23 btw).
I went to mitsi and asked them how much for the air vent setup just above the A/C head unit on my KE Verada 1997. They quoted $485 and I think I did a Michael Jackson Moonwalk upside down as I was trying to recompose myself. anyone know if I can get one from wreckers for under $100 in good cond? maybe someone has it and wants to get rid of it. Mine is ok, except the little thing u grab to change air flow direction on the vent on one of them has broken off and the only way to redirect air is to use my trusty swiss army knife. (dont ask me how it broke off lol)
Cheers

Dont buy the whole unit, that would be a total waste. The vents are easy to fix, it the pulling apart thats a pain. Get one from a wrecker, or hopefulling someone here has one. Show us a pic of the broken bit, it might make it easier for someone to find the bit you need.

yeah, mitsu has quoted your the whole vents unit, not just the swivel.
Sounds like you have broken the little know that you grab to adjust the vents.
The knob and slats are their own individual piece apart from the face they are sitting in.
You could get the swivel out of any 3 gen at a wreckers for... $2.50
The whole unit out of any 3 gen for 20 bucks.
If you get just teh swivel though make sure you take the rite side to match the one your broke.

Sounds like I should go shopping. Does anyone know of a good Verada/Magna wrecker in Melbourne that stocks recent screwups. I know about Evans Auto in Coburg North, anywhere else?
Thanks for the tips everyone. Yeah the quote was for the whole shabbang. I nearly slapped the guy with gloves in demand for satisfaction.

20 bucks for the unit may be an exageration, but the swivel isnt.
Im thinkin pick a part here, not a wreckers.

I'm looking for the following:
Verada Centre vents
Verada Trip comp from KH onwards
Verada KH front grille (Assume this will fit a KE)
Verada KE front bumper (will also do other models as long as they fit)
I'm in Melb. The bumber white would be best.
Prices prices :) ...
Also on a seperate note, how does the verada sound? The engine I mean. The one I got actually sounds more like a performance car than a luxury cruiser. There is a nice rumble note coming out of the exhaust at all revs .. certainly not loud but not tame and quiet either. It's actually a biy louder than my old TR.
Cheers.

From factory, Veradas are quiet and smooth, you can rev the guts out of them and all you get is that sexy Mitsu whirring sound.
Perhaps you have an aftermarket exhaust and/or a hole in your muffler?

Haha yeah. The muffler's been recently replaced, and it looks non-stock (its shorter, more buff and the tips are shorter and fatter) -- Maybe that's why. I guess my car is not just standard.. It's MODDED...yay..!
