Hi everyone,

Well ive bought another GT Magna.

This one is... the best one available i reckon?

It is one owner, 185kms, brand new motor put in at 133kms. Manual, Tint, towbar, beautiful condition. It Had a dealers release form in the glove box explaining what a GT Magna was along with the specs (ive been hanging out for something like that!) and a few boxes with the gold striping in them!! Ill probably get some copies made up from them.

Oh, and the number plates... GT 2600... I love it!

Had to give the wheels good scrub with degreaser and a toothbrush before i could take the photos though, pretty solid with brake dust!

Anyway, sorry theres so many photos of the same car following... but i just think it deserves it!!

My TP had brown interior and the dash didnt match either ... the dash had a purple tinge to it :P

This guy needs to be restrained before he purchases all known GT's left in existence!!!!

That is such a nice car.......group photo of your GT's FTW

At least when you meet people and they ask what car do you have you can say "about 15 GT's.......................magna GT's:redface: "

Oh My God!!! I dont think a first gen magna has ever had so much attention!! hehe. Thanks for all the comments...
I have a dilemma though... what do i do, shall i leave it as it is... completely as it was new, or should i do my customizations i do to them?

Including... TL magna badge, gold gt badge, wheels, gold pinstriping on bonnet, gold elit grille, elante kit (magna badges on skirts) etc etc... see photo below for my other blue one

Of the 1000... i have 2 burgandy (1 auto, 1 man), 2 blue (1 auto, 1 blue) and a white manual. I also have a blue smashed up one.

Heres the smashed up one upon delivery for those who havent seen it hehe
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b313/ahsilvershadow/wreckers.jpg

Plus 6 Elantes and a few normal ones!

Heres an old photo of the collection, plenty have come and a couple gone since then though!

Thats been written about a few times on here... basically not too much, theyre more of a run out model than anything i think. I just love them coz theyre rare and i reckon they look great! Almost not like a standard magna does if that makes sense...? The colour, front spoiler, rear spoiler, black door handles, wheels, Elante suspension, redesigned front seats with better trim, gold stripes:P Thats all i can think of off hand! Add to the list anyone?

[QUOTE=PeteW]verry clean, mind posting the gt build numbers i have number 667 in white

Yea thats an alarm, how do you know youre build number? Its only like a double sided page... dosent get that in depth. Says 40% of production in white and 30% each for the blue and burgandy.

Anyway, keep up the compliments hehe, i can see the magna's smilling outside haha

Oh yea, i forgot to mention, apart from my first gens i also have a TJ solara that i bought written off (and still is, but i use it on trade plate)

Its smashed in the rear, but here it is on the last sa magna cruise!!

I thought i had to have atleast one 3rd gen magna.... you know seeing as i have 17odd 1st gens hehe:redface: :D

I've noticed there's not so many 1st gens on the road lately - You've got them all  lol

Hmmm, I kind of respect Alex for having them. Have you seen the state of some first gens out there?

You would think the owners thought they were commodores and didnt deserve attention or something..

Owning a car is a privilege, you would think the owners would look after their cars. I've moved on to all cars in general here, not just 1st gens. :D

Alex is preserving some old good first gens, and keeping them away from bad owners in the process. I think thats good, if I had the money I think I would get a second one, maybe even buy one of Alex's (cause there's none left available in SA). lol

Ok, i now have the proper names for the paint colours.

Riviera Blue (FX) 30% of total production
Regency Red (JA) 30% of total production
White (WK) 40% of total production

Total Production value is 1000 vehicles, 600 manual and 400 automatic transmission.

Also the seat trim material design is called "plato"

Theyre from the Product Information Bulletin from the Marketing didvision of Mitsubishi, witten in August 1990.

You're right... Not Happy!!!

hehe, that $1,000 white one used to be $1,500... not good enough though, no wheels and just dont look good enough!!

Plus a bit hard to get lol, havent got one from there before!!

Dont worry, i check out those carsales sites a couple of times a week !!

That's the second GT ive seen advertised from WA... both of them have an extra red stipe in amongst teh gold, also have grand tourer written on the back next to the magna badge and on the rear end of the stripes... id imagine thatd be a dealer's thing they added from new for it to be on the two ive seen, the same!? Unless some crazy magna collector owned them and added them at some stage? Anyone from WA and have any answers?

No offense to anyone, i dont over greatly care for the 'standard' TM - TP Magna unless its in great condition because most of them are not in a half good condition getting around these days.

But hey, one day, one day.... $$$$

Haha, who knows, i doubt it but theyre so cheap nowadays that i dont care! Even Chargers now are worth a fortune just in bits or whatever so theres a bit of hope!

But the thing that may shock you all is that Magnas are not the only car i like hehe! Like i have said before, we have a car/bike yard so i do have plenty of cars myself... just 15- 20 Magnas in stock as well!

I'll get some pics of the new elante up soon:D

Everythings for sale, including all hobby cars etc... at the right price (to me)!!!!

For example... The blue GT magna this thread was started about would be $4,500... because you cant get a better one than it... if noone wants to pay that, then i dont care, im happy to have it :)

Well last friday i bought yet another damaged TP Magna.

This one looked beautiful (condition wise - apart from the damage) done 170kms, 1990, but is only a GLX (so carby motor unfortunately).

Anyway, damage wasnt too bad so ive fixed it over this week and took some photos this morning.

I had a TN Magna (wreck) with the same colour front so this is wearing that front now. Also put the alloys off my wreck TN Elite on it to make it look that bit nicer!

Sorry but I can't see the values of these cars sky rocketing in the next century.... i could be completely wrong but seems like a waste.

Geeeesh!!

I dont post on here to get attacked hehe, nah thats ok... I'm not disagreeing about future values... Magna's are not the only cars i have and indeed not my most 'favourite' of all my cars. They just make up a big group of them.

I have a Jeep, Range Rover, VT, XG ute, TJ solara, TE Magna,
several motorbikes, a 77 rolls and my favourite car is my CSV Corsa Volanti Commodore. As ive said before, my dad has a yard so i have plenty, i like to think i have a few 'nice cars'... and 20 Magnas:redface:

But Magna's just bring out an obsession in me. But i dont over greatly care, atleast i dont have crap heap ones that you see on the streets. Most people laugh at them i know, most people think theyre nothing, i know... but, i dont.

Its not hurting anyone so i dont see any harm. But yeah, im not having them in the hope that they will be worth a fortune... theyre just here coz i like them and because... i can! But you never know........

And i agree you you too TuffTR... good comments hehe, thanks :)

And so it should. Corsa Special Vehicles is another semi-factory Commodore tuner.

CSV "used" to get un complied shells from holden and fit their own interior trimmings and engine packages (either 5L or stroker in the VS days and from VT2 onwards the LS1) and a bodykit of their own design and had individual compliance plates.

i THINK from memory you won't find a holden plate on the car
HSV's have the holden and the HSV plates but i'm pretty sure these don't
charged a bucketload for the cars and eventually went broke but were considered a manufacturer

REGO COST x (# of cars) = COST OF HOBBY :P

This is easy, just swap the plates around whose gonna know :bowrofl:

If you wanted to be a bit more liegitamate just register one gt in every colour ha ha

Seriously though I have driven allot of nice cars in my time, but yeah the 1st gen magnas I felt in some areas were better than any other magna.....
I liked the light steering, the seats, digital dash, front mounted badge etc
They drive really smooth and some of the features they had were definately ahead of there time.

Looks great to have them all together, top job for being diffrent. I like :-)

JET-BLK, hehe, could easily be done! I dont need to though, generally what i do, is one runs out of rego... i buy another with rego :P Most magnas (of any decency) you look inside are all in pretty good condition inside, and they are very nice to drive, theyre powerful for what they are and even roomy! Mitsubishi advertised it correctly when they cam out as a new class of car... which i agree with!

Good lord, ive just come accross two more GT Magnas on ebay...

a blue manual in nsw and a white manual in vic.

Went and had a look at a burgandy one last night, not sure whats going to happen with that yet.

An Elante that we sold a few months ago was smashed up a few weeks back, bought it back the other day rather than just having it sent to a wrecker. (the tow truck company sold it to a wrecked without my permission as i had bought the car back... so had a bit of a battle with that. (this is the one that is on the far right of the photos above!)

Photos anyone?
You can see the collection of wrecks in the background.

Hey Eveyone!!

Havent posted for a while... been a bit quiet on the Magna buying scene! But hopefully that's about to change... currently arranging a white GT Manual Magna to be coming my way from victoria... with only 73,000kms!!!

So yea, ill let you know what happens, but looking like it will be going ahead at this stage!

Ill then have 2 of each GT Magna colour made :P

As for my damaged Magna's, at the moment theyre not available for part taking. While im still in the process of fiddling around and repairing some damaged ones i just want to make sure i have the bits when i need them... but ill let everyone know when anyone can come and raid them!!

Speaking of which, i need a front for a red tp magna... nose cone, front left guard, bumper and bonnet. Anyone know of an abandoned/unwanted wreck in Adelaide that may have any of these bits? Trying to get another one back from the damaged state its in so any help would be great!

Well ive got 2 of each of the gt editions now, and plenty of elantes... a v6 (v3000 are they called?) would be good to have though!

This last one come from victoria as you can probably tell by the plates, bought it off carpoint, was on there for ages and ages. probably because they were originally asking $4500 for it!! Dont worry, i paid a lot less than that :) when i got it it looked as though its been in the sun for the past few years, but now its been polished it really does look like a 70k car... so now youd have to pay me $4500 if anyone wants it hehe. Hopefully its the lowest km Grand tourer still around!

Looking at the photos again, they dont do it any justice, it does look a lot better than in the photos.

Oh, and i modify some of them!! Its just having so many you cant pour all your resources into one. But this one is definetly going to stay original. Just coz its soo nice.

Im in the process of fixing a tp exec with 104,000kms that i bought a few weeks ago, so look out for that one soon!

I also sold a TPSE i had for $2000, a week odd ago which went into the GT. Luckily didnt have to spend more.

By the way new, youre wagon is looking great and if you ever have to get rid of it... you know who to talk to :P

Anyway, thats all for now!

should mod one to make them go better :)

this is about to go onto mine in the near future hopefully by mid jan

new head with the following done: shaved, combustion chambers shaped to M9 stile but not as crasy, intake valves cut at 45/35/25 getting 100% seal, gas valve seats, intake and exhausts ports flowed, cam sent off to the make her go good place (wade) for a custom grind. stock intake is being welded round the narrow bore of the throttle body neck then opened up to 60mm to suit trottlebody & a fuel reg to adjust the mix

waiting on cam to come back, looking for stiffer valve springs and plenum work to finish still, its all a process of time and money lol

Cheers Pete

yep. they used same 3lt v6 thats in our 2nd gens. i belive but if i'm wrong i'm sure to be corrected:D
but the body was different to our first gens. it looks close to a tm-tp but has a narrower body (by about 2 1/2 inches) thats due to it being modeled of the sigma body from japan i think.
Our first gens were also modeled off the sigma but the bodies were widened for us aussies.

What!!! I was there last weekend... dammit! I even went to lonsdale too! The GT sedan and Wagon that were there are both gone now.

Must be fresh! Thankyou for spotting it for me.

May have to go and have a look... id probably only want the wheels (if tyres are reasonable) and the spoiler on the boot and maybe the seats if theyre great... so if anyones there and wants to get em for me, go ahead :) May have to head out there soon and check it out.

Is that your tool collection under the bonnet there? Get anything interesting?

As for the differences!!?? hehe, im sure its written somewhere, maybe even earlier in this thread??

Basically... limited build of 1000, 500 white, 250 burgdany. 250 blue. I own the biggest collection of them in the world haha:redface: i actually only have 2 of each colour and a wrecked blue one. they have the stripes, coloured mudflaps, lowered sportier suspenion (elante) made in 1990 only, nicer trimmed seats spoiler front and rear... umm... gold wheels!

Not that it all means much today, but i like them, and they are a 'real' thing, not a car yard done up and sold thing or something... dont go any better but just have more appeal over a standard one. Speaking of car yard ones, im 'releasing' my own special edition model!! just a few standard nice ones i have, putting TN Elite alloys and some pinstriping that im having sent over from canada and special edition stickers... Just doing that to the nicest of the plain ones i have to make something a bit more interesting!

Think that about covers it!

Alex.

Neo
26-12-2007, 03:09 PM
Yeah it looked like a new addition to the yard. Yes those are my tools, it was clean underneath so I got some dust covers for my headlights.

The seats are in good condition, the rear left rim has a little damage on it, but there was a 'NEW' gold rim in the boot.

Yeah they had decent tyres on them, but you can get them to take tyres off and they'll only charge you $10 per alloy wheel.

Oh well, still reasonable condition GT Seats and coloured mudflaps there if anyones interested!

I got some Elante-esque wheels off a mazda 929 whilst there, thinking of using them on my special edition magna im making up... rather than the tn elite wheels. Will see though.

carcycle
28-12-2007, 10:20 AM
Yea, i got all the missing bits, woulda cried if i got there and it was like it is in the photo after your shot of it a couple days earlier hehe!!

...well not really, almost though!?

As for teh front wheel... im not sure, the original pic is quite big and ive zoomed in on it... but cant tell, id imagine its a) a lock nut, seeing as theres not one on the back, i doubt it b) cracked wheel nut, on some of my other magnas with mags ive found that the chrome nuts have lost the "head?" of the nut so its hard to see or c) missing a nut/or a stanard black nut.

Hopefully its not the thread missing, doubt it... not a drama either way though... well i dont think it is anyway. Becuase the centre cap thing is missing, id guess its the spare wheel on the car and theyve dropped and or lost a nut when changing it. The front bumer (conveniently avoided in the photos) look a little damaged on the left side so id say theyve hit something and deflated the tyre that was on it, hence the few marks on the side of the car also. They look like theyll polish out though, i hope.

those mudflaps? wat condition are they in and how much are they likely to cost?

carcycle
29-12-2007, 12:49 PM
id guess probably $5 each... or just take over and tell em youll give em $10 for the lot hehe... maybe.

Theyre no different to normal magna ones... just painted is all, if you have one with the mudflaps on it you might be able to get away with just a can of white spray paint?

But in my opinion they do strangley suite them, normally id put them under the category of completely nerdy and geeky but i painted some silver on a silver tn exec i have and not it looks like an elante if you look fast hehe.

Anyway, theyre at upull it elizabeth if youre interested. I dont have any in stock, only blue and grey (elante) ones spare... which arent really spare if you know what i mean hehe. (on wrecks, may use some time!)

Gt's and Elantes, they have good interiors, mags, spoilers etc... safaris are well... not much hehe.

Sorry, dont mean to offend anyone!

But yea, if i come accross the best one left, by all means :)

Heres the new one!!

180kms, Auto, Beautiful Car. Came with a letter in the glovebox from Mitsubishi to the specifying that their car was a limited run of 1000 vehicles known as the grand tourer!! Dated 1994 and lists all the features. (Owner at the time obviously wrote to them asking if there was a reason their magna had gold stripes and wheels etc... i imagine?).

Anyway, interesting point i read, which im not sure if people are aware of or not, but option code A24 covers the Grand Tourer Package!

Gosh i have to stop buying them!!! Atleast theyre all some of, if not, the nicest ones out there i suppose!

Would like to see a copy of this letter to see what it mentions. Tried ringing mitsubishi when i first got my wagon but they didnt have any records . they mentioned something about the A 24 option .

These days as cars seem to be more disposable (certain ones... ie:magnas) its not so much the cost of getting them all that creates a burden... its where to put them!

I do have a gf actually! lol, no shes not a Magna :) and no, she has no interest in my collection or in cars in general unfortunately... although she has a TH Magna hehe.

Yeah, ive seen yours plenty of time son the net, looks youre youre up to some good work there! Do you think youd put some gold wheels on it if you come accross them, or not looking? If you get lucky there could be a GT at a upull it wrecker place nearer you and you could get the steering wheel and wheels in one swoop!!

I think autos are just as common, i prefer a manual though. Have a GT Magna in each colour and each colour in an auto and manual!
If you feel like selling one day, let me know!

Massaro Motors in Morwell Victoria were one of handful of HDT by Brock agents after the split with Holden, they also happen to be the Mitsubishi Agent at the time and Brock Built them a White TN with custom Brock Wheels, steering wheel and suspension and exhaust mods as well as build number 001, I spoke to the salesmen who sold it and he hasn't seen it since it left the showroom at the princely sum of $28,590. Apparently it didn't even come back for its 1500k nuts'n'bolts check. Just wondering if anyone here has seen or has the car? It was white with blue and red narrow waste stripe and it has on the back RHS of the boot the HDT badge with by Brock under it.

Hmm! so the plot thickens... i now have two magnas to find somehow.

The elusive black GT and this Brock TN... If you saw it out and about youwouldnt believe it and just think someones messed around with it... but if its true, sounds pretty special!

I would imagine its just a 'myth' but could be wrong. Someone has to find some pics and ill do one up as similar as i can to match :P

Anyway, this week, went against buying an elante TN off ebay in vic... you may have seen it on there, red, cut springs etc, sold for $520... over 300000kms and smokey... and things just didnt seem as good as they should be (just a feeling about it!!)

Also, looking into a nice TN Elite on ebay atm... might well be a buyer, but ill let you know haw that goes :)

Well, the blue one is for sale in Bayswater Vic at the moment but I presume you know that since your pic. is the same as their trading post ad. They're asking $3,995 for it.

Incidentally the Elite you referred to has gone off eBay.

Anyway, lay off the Elite's, Carcycle, especially the wagons! I want one, so ya can't have 'em, right! Elite wagons are getting very hard to find in good cond. I'm keeping an eye on a couple but the prices are not realistic. One is $2,500 unregistered. It looks fairly good but there's always at least a grand's worth of work to do plus rego, which brings it up to $4,000 plus - just too much unless it was low mileage and exceptional condition.

carcycle
13-01-2008, 09:30 PM
Yeah i seen that add.

And as for teh elite on ebay, got outbid in teh last 15 seconds... said reserve not met though, ive emailed them but havent heard anything back.

Hmmm, i dont have any elite wagons at the moment, used to have a white tn. An immaculate one would be nice though.

I guess what youre saying about them being too dear at $2500 is right, for you. Like over here in SA you dont need any of those roadworthy things and you only have to register for 3 months etc... if you bought one for $2500 you may have to spend another thousand before you can drive it round, here all you have to do is have an id inspection (if from interstate) but apart from that, just take in the paper... Did i just repeat myself hehe??

Anyway, its late, goodnight!

Wow, that was a good deal. It would be worth that just for the rims.
There's a nice Elite sedan in Sydney on eBay at the moment but it is an early carby model. There's also an Elite wagon at Pick and Payless for $1,685. I haven't checked than one out yet but if the owner sold it to a wreckers, I don't think it will be up to the standard I want.

Is yours a white one from Mt Tamborine? I saw one there in the Trading Post a while back - fairly low kms but unreg. All the good ones that come up seem to be in Melbourne or Brisbane. Buying from interstate is a pain even if registered because of the bs you have to go through here having a blue slip inspection done etc.

nah the one i just brought it blue over silver ........ blue top silver bottom and it's efi it's was from just just mt gravett about 20min from my place .....what i am thinking of doing it i got a set of polished elite rim's might put them on and take the gold rim's of and turn it into a gt look alike hehehehehe ......... it was on ebay for like 7 days at 200 buck's ......need a little work like new gearbox but hey can't expect it to be perfect .....i know where some gt part's are here in brisbane so i might get the steering wheel and put it on the wagon ....

And yeah, it is the same front bumper.... amazingly, i bought a replacement but while i was starting to take the spoiler off the original i thought... hang on, this has gone back to shape! What great cars hehe.

Heres a couple more photos, ive tidied up the interior, tidied up the mudflaps, done my GT magna badging on the back and also tidied up under the bonnet and painted the heat shield to match!

By the end of the week ill have whacked a couple tyres on the front and hopefully have it registered and ready to be my new driver! Seeing as currently none of them are any longer registered.

carcycle

You sure yours just isnt customized so that it does sit flush hehe??

Yeah, theyre Hilux indicators. Its amazing how different the cars look with them... doesnt look much in teh photos, but looking in the rear view mirror with it travelling along behind, looks like an import or some extra special thing rather than... "just a magna"! Notto say that a clear set of original orange ones dont look any good!

Anyway, i think i mentioned somewhere that a bought a TN Elite the other day, just a cheapie but turns out to be not too bad at all! Also bought a wrecking white TP exec the other week and a gold tp se of which ive now sold. So yea, still things happening!

I dont think i could afford your expertise hehe, maybe a hot lap of my block in the completed car :bowrofl:

I reckon we should all enquire about getting some custom lights made for the old magnas... they do it for Vn's and EA's so its possible!! The headlighst would look fantastic with just clear lenses rather than the i dunno what youd call it "contoured" (?) glass that they have that sort of washes it out so to speak.. they look like verada lights... anyone ever tried that or heard of it done or anything?

Also, anyone got a boot mat for my GT wagon + the carboard/wooden bits? :) might just have to wait till my next excursion to upullit.

I made up custom clear indis, there still in my wagons pics on fastmagna, yet to update, atm due to have a silver bumper i lightly sprayed the bar lights silver, you cant see the orange, but the mist of silver turns to bright orange when the indis go's on.

I was actually looking at silvia front indi housings, VERY similar, i think may be a bit longer where the bulb goes, but they look a treat and i think are the right dimensions, but cant be assed buying them to install em.

Alex.

I replaced all the cardboard in mine with 8 or 9mm plywood. A couple of coats of Estapol on both sides gives the plywood extra strength and helps it stay clean. There is a bit of work involved in drawing up a pattern and cutting it out but well worth it. Before that, if I had to kneel in the back while loading stuff, my knees would go through the cardboard. No chance of that now. The mat in mine is still the original (grey) carpet.

As for the digi dashes, ive never actually changed one over! Ive only got one TP Elite wreck with one in it atm and a TN Elite (goer) with it... so i dont have any so to speak compared to cars hehe but havent changed any over so dont need them.

I wouldnt mind putting one in one of the nicer magnas, but the ones i do have had too many kms on them and i dont want to go buy one... just wait till i get a wreck elite with low ks i think.

Looking good.

Is it just the pics or is the nose panel a different shade of red?

Also in where the nose meets the drivers guart, is it bent up on the end?

Like the red grille, will try that with the silver TP I am painting at the moment (silver that is)

carcycle
29-02-2008, 04:47 PM
Damn... i was hhoping noone would notice.

Yeah, the front nose is a different red... as with the blue and burgandy sedan GT's, the coulours are hard to coem by so getting the right red is too hard as i didnt want to wait around.

So i just got a normal red one from u-pull-it. its not to bad, you cant over greatly tell unless youre looking at it in particular...

its not bent up, i dont think, i think teh headlight is sitting a bit odd, after ive fitted it hehe. I am going to get some headlight covers for it as soon as i can get my ahnds on them to tidy it up/"fill in the gaps" a bit!

Was also thinking of putting a bonnet protector on it just to throw people off of the odd colour... Obviously still clear, but they just create like a bubble type look so you dont pay attention to it. What do people think of that idea? Trouble is they dont sell them anywhere new anymore so ill have to hunt around for an ok spare one from somewhere.

I only have one and thats on the GT with 70,000kms... so wanna keep that original so to speak!

As for the grill, that came from an Elante, same red as the nose cone, but the GT's come out with a painted grill so thats not really to my credit hehe!!

So unless i wanna get it painted, which i dont really... thats how it will stay. I dont mind it...much still looks good! Unless you know, you wanna paint one for me :P

and to everyone else... dont study the photos that hard!! haha

Trouble is they dont sell them anywhere new anymore so ill have to hunt around for an ok spare one from somewhere.

I saw one in pretty good nick down at U-Pull-It, very end of one of the back rows. Should still be there because nobody so far can get the bonnet open. lol I think the bonnet release cable is snapped, but if it'll open somehow...

May be worth taking a look down there anyway.

What is your fear about painting the nose, looking at the work you have put into these, I can see no reason you could not paint it yourself.

THere are some paint shops on SA that have great colour matching people, if you ask for a spray match you will be good. Take off the nose and just paint the nose. You seem to be in the trade so should be no issues there.

So how many of these do you now have lol?

As for the rh corner, it is sitting up in the pics, should be easy to back off the bolts and gently nudge it down a little, head light protectors may solve this but to be honest they can also make it more obvious.

Astron Boy, would be glad to only you are a little far away lol

Well today i went to u-pulle-it, elizabeth... there was a red tn elante there, side skirts wheels, spoiler gone. Front bumper ans poiler was there though... hanging off n a bit beaten looking but could be tidied up i reckon.

Anyway, i got a bonnet stone protector thing for the wagon finally to help cover up the problems you all spotted haha

Along with th ebrand new headlight covers that i got from repco last year for $12 i think it does the job quite nicely and actually suites it! looks like a fully loaded accessories wagon!

In my opinion anyway...

What do you think?

Oh, i also got the GT Magna white guard (GT at u pull it earlier in this thread) after someone had vandalised mine (kicked it in) through out car yard fence, luckily that was still there!!

And then after all that i bought a GSR sigma on the way home... had a good day! :D

Where is that advertised? Can't see it on eBay.

Just a coincidence but when I got home from work last night, there was a white GT sedan or Elante parked in front of my place.

For a moment, I thought one of you guys had left me a present but unfortunately it was gone this morning. I might have known you wouldn't be that generous. How mean!!

It probably belonged to somebody visiting the neighbours, so I didn't want to appear too nosey. Otherwise I'd have checked it out more thoroughly.

It was dark, cold and windy last night, so I didn't get much of a look but it definitely had front and rear spoilers and the side stripes. I couldn't see the wheels clearly but I don't think they were Elante mags - looked more like TN Elite mags, so I think it was a GT. If they visit again, I'll try to corner them and ask some questions.

coldamus
15-06-2008, 07:20 PM
Ok, found the red GT wagon in the Trading Post. Looks good inside and out. The red is a bit harsh on the eyeballs though.

There's a couple of Elite wagons for sale here too, both TNs. I will try to check them out tomorrow.

16-06-2008, 09:15 AM
Oh i see! There wasnt any photos of it before, just spoke to the owner and took his word.

It looks really nice, but i just went to have another look and its gone!! Whats happened... did you buy it!?

It looks a bit funny because that shot was in the direct sun, but the red does look quite good. Also the lacking of a front spoiler and red grille just made it look less like it should... easy fix though!

Did you or anyone save the pics of it, coz i didnt and i would like them to keep with the collection of pics i have.

Also, am in the process of buying a tn elante with 119000kms, so let you know hwo that goes!!

Alex.

Heres a pic of the NSW one

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b313/ahsilvershadow/3835596.jpg

coldamus
16-06-2008, 06:29 PM
No. I didn't buy it, but you are right, the advert has gone.

I didn't save the pictures. I thought I might be able to find them in my internet cache (temporary files) but it is an impossible task.

We're having horrible weather over here, so I didn't get a chance to check out the Elite wagons. They're cheap, so probably fairly rough. I thought if I got a cheap one with a clean interior, I'd swap its seats into mine plus the mag wheels, etc. Alternatively if the body was better than mine, I'd go the other way and transfer mechanicals from mine.

Heres a couple of pics i just took, painted the grille black (a spare i had) seeing as theres no paint made for the colour... almost looks right, better than it was anyway. And also removed the front nudge bar!

Yeah it wouldn't surprise me. Any info or pics??? I'll do a google search myself......

The wagons look very nice! I love wagons there's something bout the extra shape in the body that i like about them. Not to mention the practicality!

I'd love to start a personal collection of original, clean VL Commodores. ESPECIALLY CALAIS! Seriously, they're becoming an endangered species! All the fully sick people love to destroy them by turbo-ing and excessively modify them then smashing and thrashing them up

Grr!!! bloody Upullit. There was a white one there with the drivers side but the way they stck the cars up on the old rims crushed the skirt at the front and back... so it was cracked and bowed...!!!

There was also a grey elante with the whole kit but there was the same problem! It annoyed me so much, they should have been more careful considering I thought the kit would be one of the more desirable things to take of the car! It caused me great frustration. I shoulda taken some pics now that I think of it to show you what I mean. But it didn't all end up bad, I nicked some badges off of a 2nd gen (cant quite remember the model, but its the one with MITSUBISHI in chrome letters on the back) for my dashboard just above the gove box, looks quite good imo ;)

all in all.... the 150km round trip turned out to be rather frustrating lol, probs gon go back on the weekend tho... or maybe just to the elizabeth one which is a tad closer :P

also, I went to the mitsi clearence house. OMG!!! theres so much mitsubishi stuff there! I bought the power antenna shaft for my car since its broken on mine, for $10, which I thought was pretty good, the bloke there was pretty helpful too.

hmm gonna be interesting....

I could probs grap front and back bits anyway... although migth look a bit silly without the sideskirts..

Oh one more thing.... my car is the white, with black around the bottom about 30cnm high, would it look silly having a white sideskirt underneath :S I'll need to get at least on of em sprayed anyway if I get them... so yeah...

floater05
26-06-2008, 04:52 PM
do your doors have any black on them. if its just the part below the door the side skirts should cover that. im still keen for the side skirt even if its damaged. as long as its not too far gone.

the front piece of the kit that i got. came from an elante with a really banged up front end. i nearly left it there. then decided to grab it. it sprung back after it was removed from the car.

oh and blazin tp. if you want to see a magna with the front and back kit only have a look in this thread. http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53922 theres a few pics of my car

Blazin'
26-06-2008, 09:04 PM
My car also had black on the bottom of the doors so yeah the kits not gonna cover it all... same with the back, if I get the rear kit I think there may be some black showing, but i'll have to doble check on my car first.

Um, how much would you be willing to pay for the drivers side skirt anyways?? I might be able to grab it for ya. PM me about it if ya want, I could even send you a mms on ya phone of it on the day so you can see the quality of it, and whether you want it or not... thats if I can actually get it off while its sitting on the wheels there too... might have to politely ask the staff to borrow their forklift haha!!

ya car looks pretty good in that thread, but it does look like theres something missing without the sideskirts...

I have 2 options now haha.
1) dont bother with kit
2) Repaint all black bits white which will be very annoying but maybe I will do it...

it'll prob make my car look a bit funny with black patches everywhere just above the kit...

hmm now for decision time haha.

heres a couple of pics of my car so you can see whet I mean...

edit: I was thinking how it would look if I painted the kit black... and painted front and rear 2tone black/white how the ones are on there atm... would be one of a kind then :P

I hate roof lining too! I was going to get it redone but my brother decided to staple it to the roof before I got a chance! lol

I was thinking about making it blue like the carpet and the rest of the vinyl and dash!
