I have noticed hesitation and power loss in the upper rev ranges lately and it's been 45,000kms since fuel filter was last changed; tried to today however the #@$#@ hose connections won't come off.

I have already relieved fuel pressure by disconnecting the fuel pump and cranking until the car stalls; and know that the hose connect unscrews anti-clockwise on top and clockwise on bottom (whilst looking down at the filter).

They just won't budge; I have used the longest ring spanners I can fit behind the engine and short of screaming and tearing the fuel lines off the firewall.... what can I do? I want to tackle this before I drive down to Phillip Island tomorrow otherwise will have to see my mechanic during the week and see how the hell he got it undone last time.

BTW have already tried WD40... no go.

yeah taking the fuel lines off the filter is a biatch. I ended up taking it to my mechanic and he used a rattle gun (or something like that) to take 'em off.

Ah damn, and he probably used a rattle gun to put them on last time :/ Oh well it will give me a few hundred Kms to let this injector cleaner run through before the filter gets changed then.

All's good guys; Mal (Madmagna) busted out the Snap-on tools and undid the bolts in a jiffy ;).
