Hey all,
Has anyone ever looked under a tr v6 and seen the Piss poor excuse of a T intersection just behind the sump?
Well i dont know if this is allowed my i have just started my own buisness, PLUG! :silenced: (wont name and shame yet LOL) But part if it involves custom exhausts, ETC...
So this weekend i am going about making a nice Y intersection that will join up before the cat.
It will consist of 2in runners from the headers/ cast manifold and expand into 2 1/2in before the O2 sensor.... and cat. I'm getting a 2 1/2 in cat, center muffler (straight through) and putting a magnaflow rear (straight through) all stainless mandrel bent...
to start it will only be the front section (upto the stock cat Mmeeeoooow) LOL
Just to see if ant sort of gains can be felt as i have no dyno avail( hint hint anyone out west!)
I would like to make this available to everyone but nothing to back me up in the numbers game i.e before and after HP, TOURQUE gains,it will be purely cosmetic, time will tell!!
Any interest in this let me know, dont know cost yet.
Any comments would be app as there is nothing for the TR avilable....

Yeah i know what T piece your talking about.
I feel sorry for the exhaust gases, they get to that bit and probably think s*** where do i go now!
If i was keeping the engine id defiantly get this done! it'd be a very worthwhile mod.

Dood you can get extractors from a wrecker for like $50 and then the rest is one pipe....
V6's are totally diff:P

well i doubt the difference between performance extractors and i dunno race extractors will be diffierent on the asstrons anyway
My local wrecker, $45
You should be able to find them, when the stock ones cracked instead of replacing them again with stock ones they were usually fitted with extractors.
so not as hard as you think to find

Talked to the exhaust shop today and he recommended a 2 pipe system.
i.e front bank 1 pipe and rear bank another pipe.
Seemed a bit pricey after my little exhaust system today so i think ill leave that for another day

Hey all.. update.
After nearly a week of drivin, can definately feel more urge right throughout the rev range.:D Doesn't have the drop off high in the rev range keeps pullin right to 6300:badgrin:
More noticable with part throttle. no need to press the right foot as hard.
I really want a dyno to see what its done. But with no starting point now, it's a bit useless.
Will see if it affects economy over the next few weeks. Bit hard with all the spiratic driving i do.(long distance one day and 20 short trips the next)

Cant wait to make up the rear section. I can tell it's still being smothered by that exec muff!
Can't make it this week end the hoist is being used.....:gtfo: :bowrofl:
apparently the 3rd gen 3L front pipes are on Y collector and flow a lot better and fit onto the 2nd gen like factory. I would be keen if it's cheap lol
