hey i got a quote today to get my steering rack, rocker cover gasket, idle speed motor, cat converter, and my oil filler cap seal fixed/replaced, the quote was around $1235, was just wondering if other ppl thought this price is fair.

Erm, rather not. Dunno how much they are looking at for the rack, which is probably where the main cost is, and which you should probably just pick up 2nd-hand if it's some ridiculous price.
Cat = ~$200 installed.
ISC = ~$150 installed.
Oil filler cap seal = ~$5.
Rocker cover gasket, dunno, maybe $20 for the part.
A good 2nd-hand steering rack shouldn't cost you more than, dunno, maybe $100-200.
[EDIT] A quick look on ebay shows "remanufactured" steering racks for magnas for $280. New racks for other cars seem to be around $200-250 (couldn't see new for magnas there) , so that should give you a decent idea of how much you could get 'em for.

sounds like a fair price to me. bit of labor involved.
