I installed a new pioneer headunit but when i turn my headlights on all the speakers running off the headunit stop but my sub still works. I thought it as my ground but i have tried many different spots but still the same problem. Any ideas?

is it blowing fuses?, which wires did you wire it into

Its not blowing fuses and it works just fine when the headlights are off, just when they are on. I wired it to the stock headunit power wire.

check wiring you have probably wired the illumination wire up wrong.

did the same with my dads tp except the headlight fuse blew and only had high beams.
as said above check your wiring 1st gens are a bitch!

Sounds like you have wired the decks earth to the illumination wire.

You dont need to earth the deck from the loom in the misubishi loom there is no earth. the deck earths through the brackets ;)

hlucin8 was right!! i wired the units earth to the illumination wire. all fixed now. thanks evryone :D
