Hi Guys,
Having a problem with both "Remote's". Will not open or lock central locking. Have had the batteries checked out they're OK. Keys operate the locks OK. Please help.

the internals can get screwed up over time. for a cheap-ish solution, they can be bought off ebay for like $20, then u just have to re-programme them in. but both of them screwed...? were they working when u got the car? might be the main unit is screwed...?

The main unit could be the problem. Thanks.

Hi - both my remotes failed, reprogrammed them and they failed again some time later. My problem was that the battery holder was losing connection to the circuit board, if the remotes are dropped or knocked the internal pins disconnect either permanently or for a second and the remote loses the program.
Solution, I put a lump of blu tac inside both remotes and then squeezed the body shut again to make the battery pins stay in contact with the circuit board - never had trouble since.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip re the remotes. My remote has been loosing its programme on and off for ages and has been a real pain in the ### as the TL does not have key access to the passenger side or the boot.
So the other day I jammed a piece of rolled up paper in the remote and squeezed it shut so there was no way the battery could move. Not had a problem since.
Anyone with same problem give it a try.

one of my remotes was not working when i bought my car and i found it was the solder joints from the circuit board to the battery.
i found it too hard to resolder both + and - but i will give those instructions a go and see how it is.

What's the main unit????? Sounds like a useless post, and of no help! :gtfo:
The remote will more than likely have the battery carrier lifting due to bad welds!
Just fold some paper etc to "pack it" and hold some force on it!
