HI
My 3 TL VR AWD runs out of warranty in October. I'd been thinking of having the RACV do an end of warranty assessment before then so the I could get anything fix before the warranty expired.
Has anyone been down this path before and what has been your experience. Is having the RACV doing it better than the Mitsubishi dealer?
Thanks

VERY GOOD IDEA!
I mean it depends on how honest your mitsubishi dealer is, but put yourself in their shoes. Would you pay money to fix someone elses car if you didn't have to?

Umm you do realise that the cost of fixing things under warranty doesn't come out of the dealership's pocket don't you?
They have no reason to be dishonest cause they charged the labour and parts to Mitsubishi.

Didn't know that, but even still, i'm sure the dealers would have targets to meet, otherwise they'd just fix everything for free.

The foot rest of my car broke off (bad welding). Went to a dealer and told them to fix it.
They were trying to find the least expensive way of fixing it so that I don't have to pay
too much, until that is, I mentioned its a warranty job. They had the car for two days and
did a proper job (removed drivers seat, removed carpeting so that it doesn't catch on fire
etc).

What kind of 'targets' do you mean?
If something is faulty and under factory warranty, it gets fixed at MMAL's cost - simple.

initially the labor charge does. dealers order parts and applies to mitsu for a credit and invoices mitsu for labor.
They have no reason to be dishonest cause they charged the labour and parts to Mitsubishi.
and thats the problem mitsu can and sometimes do knock it back and its up to the dealer to pay for the "warranty" work. happens when mitsu determines a part to be "within tolereance"
If there is absolutely any question at all as to whether something will be covered under warranty then the dealership will get it checked with Mitsubishi first.
