iv spent the last couple of hours installing my new pioneer head unit. wiring it up bolting it in etc. i turn on my ignition and the screen lights up then goes off again. and lights up and goes off again. and keeps repeating. i turn on engine and my head unit starts working. starts playing and functioning properly. but as soon as i turn off the engine the head unit cuts out again and starts the on/off thing repeating.

the first thing i thought was that i had mixed the acc and battery wires around. but no i swapped em over and the exact same thing happens. i cut my connections to check the connections for a loose wire. but no, everything seems fine. reconnected them and tried agian. problem still there. so i ran the engine and had the head unit going testing volumes and stuff and notice wen i start the turn the volume up more than 50% it cuts out again then turns back on but keeps cutting out.

so im left to presume thats theres a problem with the power getting to the head unit. but my connections are fine. i then thought off running it of the power to the cigarette lighter. i tried this and realised that the cigarette lighter is an acc thing which is why that didnt work. so now im thinking maybe i should run a wire direct from the battery?. but im not sure how to do this.

if anyone knows wat the problem might be? or how to run a wire direct from the battery? your help would be much appreciated

also wen i tested the head unit a couple of days ago it worked fine. i alredy had a pioneer plug wired up so i just plugged that in to test. i wouldve just kept that one in there but the front speaker connections on it were faulty.
