Anyone know the maximum depth or width speakers that will fit in the roof of the gen2 wagon??? Being in the roof I wouldnt think you could fit any much in after market speakers, not sure how big the factory ones are. Would be cutting up the boot trim on the sides be the only option ???

Roof speakers? Are they in the roof?? Shows I've never paid attention to 2nd gen wagons hey. Care to show a couple of pics? If they've fitted speakers in the roof I don't see why you couldn't get some after market ones to go in of the same size, I would guess either 4" or 6".

I picked up a set of these out of a Verada but then put speakers in the side panels anyway, so sold them.
Not sure of how big a speaker you can fit but I do remember someone modding the stock Verada speaker mount to fit a deeper speaker.
Don't have any pics on this PC, will post some when I find them.

That is the coolest rear speaker setup I've seen in a wagon! Next up, subbie in the roof! The good thing about that too is its nice and easy to put splits in, because you have heaps of space and places to mount them.

I suppose you just fit 6" or 6.5" speakers in there in place of the originals then?

Subwoofer in the roof? Worst idea yet unless you sound deaden the bastard with inches thick of the septone body deadener, then build a box that won't obstruct vision etc... Damn man! :P

6 inch speakers fit in there from memory :) I wouldn't put splits back there though, no point in wasting money for a seating position that is rarely used (even then you have to have dickie seats!)

And by the time you've done all that I think the roof might begin to fold in! :bowrofl:

Maybe I won't try it, its for the best. My mind works it mysterious ways sometimes I tell ya

I reckon its a pretty cool idea too, I reckon it would sound nice up there, except looking at the pics in that link, it looks like the speaker is sealed and would have an almost zero size enclosure, surely this would impact on sound volume/quality if some decent speakers were put in there.

Looks like they just used some speaker cloth and wrapped it around the speaker and around the whole speaker panel thing. Got some top of the range pioneer splits im thinking about ripping out of my old car im trying to sell.
