hello people,

i was wondering if any one knows the gear ratios and what speeds you can do in each gear, for a TH 5 speed magna.

some one with a factory manual will have geabox ratio
and power shift diagramms they may be able to scan in

there are mathamatical equations for this
starts with number of tyre rotations over 1 KM to rpm of the motor

need the gearbox ratios to diff for each gear

click on search, type in gear ratios... you will find all ratios in various threads

then go to the 10.5psi thread = XXX kw thread there is a link to a calculator where you input engine rpm tyre size and gear ratios and it will give you all the info you need

For the 3.5 ltr engine the optimum shift point is 5250 rpm but not sure wat the gear ratios are.

i did work it out 1 day. i will try it out this week sometime. for the gears that o above 100km/h just get to 3000rpm and double the speed you are doing. whether you actually get to that speed in 5th is a different story. it has a speed cut at around 210kmh. but i got a pic of my speedo doing 240, but that wasn't done on the road. it was done in my front yard with the front wheels off the ground. and it was the inertia flicking the needle to 240, if you wound it up slower it would cut at about 210.
