i just had my transmission box rebuilt on my 03 magna TL...
on cold starts when i put it to D or N it lags... takes about 2 sec before it goes in to place with a big jerk. but when the car is warmed up for like 2min or so it would be alright to put it to drive... another thing that i just found it was that the R gear would go into neutral when pushed a little.. tried driving in R up a slope and it just moves till the car needs more power and when i add the pressure on the acc pedal the car rolls forward no matter how hard i rev it... it just slips into neutral...

the cable from the gear shift to the gearbox select positioning on the box needs adjusting

on your car itmay be a 12 mm nut on a slide adjustment at the gearbox end of the cable undo that nut and slide it a little till

retighten and adgust the cable untill each gear selects properly start in park then work your way down to Ist

on the earlier models there were two holes you had to line up as a guide for alignment

Take it to the Mechanic who rebulit it:rant: It looks like your bad luck with that Magna TL continues!!!:cry:
