hey guys im thinking of getting a pair of 3-way components: Focal 270 V3s. they consist of;

11" mid-bass
5" midrange
1" tweeter

before i whack these into my front doors which i can make fit perfectly, i just need to know one thing. I have a 97 TF Exec. Is it a problem to paint the trims with car paint? I was thinking of fiberglass, hi-fil it all then get my friend to spray it. Will it hold or will it just chip off after a while? Or id there a special paint i have to use?

If it's fiberglass, then as long as it is all prepped properly it should be fine I believe.

If you are talking about painting the vinyl, then you should use a special vinyl and carpet dye. Usually comes in a can, can get it from your local automotive specialist store.

However, I personally wouldn't do something like that, as I still think in the long run it would chip or fade. You are probably better making a fiberglass pod that you can simply attach to your door. Get it sprayed the same colour as your window switches (if you have elec windows) and it would look like a neat install.

hey i got verada trims to mod up my TR , working towards small car sunday lol

i painted them black with the vinyl paint and trimmed in white leather they look hot as , the base coolor of the trims was charcoal so i didnt use primer as suggested by the paint joint and they look wicked depends on what colour you're looking at painting them whether to use a primer they said .

Ive tried scratching mine and they dont scratch and i used both the Satin Black and the Gloss black for the speaker pods and handles .

$15 a can its well worth the time i tell ya
