Hello all,

Just wondering I'm about to buy one of these, just looking for any more good feedback, I heard that when searching through IPod Album Titles are hard to read e.g. "Ministry of Soun", instead of "Ministry of Sound - Sessions 4 CD1", just wondering if anybody has this problem?

I'm getting it for 393$ of eBay inc. postage inc. iPod Cable, is this a good price?

I got a new Alpine CDA-9883 from JB hifi few weeks ago for 310$. Yes, i mine one also have the same display problem, it can't read the full text if it's too long, but these Alpine units are really good. Hope it helps.

Lol but who wants short MP3 tags

In other news I ordered it, so many good writeups about this head unit so I'm not going to let short ID3 tag display let me stop from buying it. Will let you know how it all goes.

try pressing the title button... i have a 9855R and in a couple of the display modes it cuts things short, but in others it will scroll them across the screen.

Apparently another issue with this is the lack of tuning functions? Anybody heard about this?

I sold this CDA9885, get the CDA9887 well worth the extra 100$ or so. Better tuning features, got a nice digital processing tool as well which "restores" lost "quality". But does make it sound better in some ways.

Well if its only running stock then your right, I got the CDA9887 for 530 incl ipod cable, due to its excellent sound quality :P But alpines all have good sound quality.

Just I needed the extra tuning features, I just sold my CDA9885 for 380$ so you might find a good deal on ebay.
