Anyways onto my new project , a manual TR that has its very own sponsor yaaaaayness im stoked and am busily modding everyday til SMALL CAR SUNDAY which im sooooo hoping to make .

I need some suggestions i have got most mods sussed big time and my custom paint and airbrushing is only days away , i really dont want boring old TR tail lights i kinda want something round , anyone know whatll fit ? if anything , i have got parabolics for the front .

Also im hanging for a wild front bar and/or body kit before the painting comences , i really like the diamente but i am having trouble finding one in lil ol Adelaide any suggestions , i sooooo dont do verada bars lol i want something wild , unique and meeeee lol sorta BMWish if possible ?????

Ummm, you could tint the tail lights with a can of night shades, but bit dodgy in regards to legality.

Did a quick search, and found this (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46748&highlight=tinted+tail+lights) thread. They look good... all the plastic is the same red, and looks like it has a chrome strip through the middle. Probably the best looking tail lights I've seen on a 2nd gen.

In regards to a body kit, do a search around here. Lots of threads on 2nd gen body kits. I believe there's a VIP style one that can be sourced from somewhere overseas, but hard to find.

Who's your sponsor if you don't mind me asking? And any pics of the car and what you've done to it already? Keen to see what you had to do to get a sponsor!

Regarding Tailights, apart from the regular Magna ones, there is the KS Verada ones (I believe they may also be on KR Xi's and TR Elite's aswell?)

They are the same as the ones on the cars above, definitely look better than the Magna ones. Not 100% on the chrome strip, never really looked close enough at a KS to see if the have them.

My car's got a chrome strip:) Found on TR Elites' and KR Verada XI's. the chrome strip breaks the darkness. then KS got rid of the strip. I reckon it looks better. Just look around in the wreckers you're bound to find them somewhere. There's one for sale on ebay of a KR Xi RIGHT NOW! go check it out.

And tuffy has some for sale too, not sure if they're R or S though. If i ever decide to do that i'll be going KS rears. Tuff's are $40 a piece, not bad!

also, i seriously suggest we ban the usage of ThIs TyPe Of WrItInG BeCaUsE It MaKeS Me WaNt To CoMmIt MuRdEr.

Here's some real suggestions for a serious car:

- 3000GT TT 6G74 transplant along with the usual performance mods (I don't need to say them)
- AWD transplant from TJ AWD
- Leather interior with all seats removed and replaced with [insert you biggest brand here] ala leather recaro's or cobras etc..
- Tub the whole thing, 22x10 at all corners, massive dish, bagged too.
- seriously rediculous subs built on a custom clear carbon fibre centre console that runs from a matching custom dash down into the rear and up to the parcel shelf that is also removeable for drag racing with your madly modded, super dooper TT v6.
- wild paint, perhaps a 2 tone, top half marbled kustom black with flake the size of my.. face.. and the bottom chrome or perhaps a blue or green chrome (I'd go vinyl though, weighs a lot less than chrome paint which is supposedly like lead)
- Custom front with BMW lights, custom bonnet, rear with new HSV GTS tail lights (They look like they might fit) with strobe under the car, not LED's or CCFL, those wheel lights that sit in your guard and look cool.
- Completely detailed underbody including chromed running gear, gold plated a arms and swaybars

Eddy Wreckers had a diamante front end a few weeks ago had the front bar and the lights and grill set-up. I think he was after $450 for the lot. give them a buzz! to get it looking even tougher see if you can get one of the bigger bottom lips for it, prob have to import one of those tho. looks more aftermarket

To answer a few , NEW ACCOUNT ? ahhhhhh didnt know i needed permission wont be using PIMPD TR account anymore as i dont have the car , i didnt know how to just change my name , so thought this is whatcha did , sorry admin . The blue TR in the avatar was my wagon i had for a while nothing much but hey it served its purpose SOLD it to get what i always wanted , my base project BLACK (charcoal )lol manual TR .

I have a sponsor cos my mates just opened a Custom workshop and hes gonna sponsor my car , letting him run wild with the airbrushing and custom paint job . As for mods atm i changed the grill to mesh , got the parabolics they're going in with the respray , trimmed the interior in black and white and carbon fibre , got tinting mirror chrome fader , after market dash gauges in white .
Most stuffs getting done when it gets stripped for the respray lol gonna be real Pimp My Ride style with the transformation i so can't wait .

I need to know how to get black carpet , and ive seen some elite seats theyre blue velvet any ideas on getting these black , trying to go black , white and chrome interior wise . Also i see the KEs i think had chrome handles , would these fit a TR anyone know ?

Will add some progress photos if yas want , id love to share my project car .

Check trademe.co.nz (http://www.trademe.co.nz/) for V3000 or diamante handles, look for someone listing a few bits and see if they have the handles. I tried registering to contact, and I think it seemed to say you need to transfer $10 to your trademe account before you get activated, so I didn't go any further than that as I couldn't be bothered.
That said, if anyone is registered, start tracking down some chrome handles for us 2nd-genners!
(TUFFTR got some recently, they are silver painted over a chrome finish, you can strip off the silver apparently).

For carpet, you can get carpets made or sometimes there's a mob I see ads for in hot4's or fast fours or something like that and they have two piece carpets for a LOT of cars in a pretty good range of colours, but since you're doing a pro show car, I’d go the custom one piece otherwise it'll look half done IMO.

If in Brisbane you can try GT Trimming, if your mate has just opened a custom bodyshop he'd probably want to get friendly with an upholsterer so they can refer business to themsevles, after all, how many people with custom paint get the interior done too? lots!

I'd recommend perhaps trying for a 3rd gen leather interior? it'd save on getting a custom retrim, you could also get some OBX reclinable bucket seats (they're about $400 for a pair now) and get them in a colour that you're happy with and trim the backseat to match that way you have a custom-ish interior 80% done.

knox auto carpets for carpet... its in melb but shipping isnt much

Also try the US ebay for those chrome interior door handles.
...and while your there, keep an eye out for other Diamante stuff like the Auto night/day rear view mirror, etc.

how much did you buy it for? why don't you put those nice vrx rims you had on?

i paid a little too much lol $1200 but i got what i wanted to start from the basic black manual and mod big time

as for the VRX rims naaaaaaaa i want chromes like my old 17s on PIMPD TR i just loved them , i have thought of painting the VRX rims gold but hmmmmm :confused:

them vrx rims are the way to go
yeah paint the gold would suit the black as long as you don't put red seat covers or red steering wheels stuff like that has to be all flowing with two colour theme :D
