Keep the Sigma grille... It looks a lot better than last time, I dig it!

Full time 4WD now? That's a change for you :P

Pooky has this grille on her 2nd Gen too :)

Sigma Grille has that difference look (like the rest of your car) but the KS has the dark sinister/tough look.
What would the Sigma grille look like with no chrome? or would that just look like a KS grille.
Sorry, without seeing it in person, I'm kindof sittin on the fence. Not much use to you. :doubt:

Go the sigma grille. adds a little somthing something. the KS grille's too, one colour. the chrome, even though you have no other chrome on the front, matches perfectly. keep it!:D

Much appreciate all the feedback guys. The sigma grille is staying! http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/images/smilies/new/yahoo.gif

So true puck, the ks grille has got a dark sinister look to it but the sigma grille is rare. It has a hint of galant in it I reckon :D

yo!

Nah man the normal ks grille looks better on your car....your car looks too "sporty" for the crome...now it looks like some gay ricey ****.....and you really dont need that with the huge writing on your bonnet and gay azn dood inside! aaaaaaahahahahah

dimi108

Chrome has a place on the Diamante/Sigma... Looks really classy and very mean with the narrower grille.

Yann what are you talking about with the 4WD thing, it makes it look like he's got something better than the already famous supercharged 3L engine under the hood lol

yer i agree...but its like putting a huge "garret" sticker on his front windscreen...it aint there!lol

Go the Japanese grille - looks different. Distinctive.

I like the Sigma grille, I do, but it doesn't suit....the chrome is just wrong on the car IMO, makes it look cheap to me....

Colour coding gives it a meaner look and it suits the front end better, makes the car look more valuable if you ask me.

Thats my 2c.

Edit: Maybe a poll?

That sigma one is hawt! Keep it for sure.

Thanks guys. I know most of you said to keep the sigma grille but it's a hard choice because in some ways I really like the new grille because it has more definition and looks very different but the KS grille suits the sporty theme of the car just like chuck norris mentioned and it looks a bit more meaner and sinister from the front.

Damn it's a hard choice I dunno I dunnooo
Here's a last set of comparison photos. Just in case you change your mind let me know ok!

i prefer the ks grille, the sigma one is a little too "busy" for me. its cool youre sponsored but its a pity bout all the stickers on your bonnet theyre distracting me from looking at what is otherwise a very hot car.

dimi108
29-08-2007, 08:51 AM
Yeah the stickers are pissing me off might have to grab the blow dryer and peel them away looks too wtf
Not really interested in renewing the sponsorship maybe i can ask for a different sponsor like Mine's or something. I've had way too many people ask me if it was a company car and if it was a chinese car. Can't be having that :doubt:

I think it looks sportier because the grille is narrower, and it adds class with the chrome accents. Sexy grille.

Lose the chrome grille i reckon. It actually does look smoother with the other, keep it black or try colour coding it and see how it goes.

Try not to make the front end look to 'busy' and keep it sleek, but do want you want and what makes you happy i guess,

Cheers!!!

stickers off and keep the verada grill. when i 1st went the verada grill on my olf TS it was all the one colour which was ok, but once i painted the vents black it transformed the car into such a meaner look.

dimi still havent seen this car in person! i gotta get an up close look!

You know....i was thinkin...it might be that us guys dont like it dont like it because it doest look right because your car is 2 tone.....maybe if the whole car was one colour the crome highlights would suite more.....

Guess ill have to scope it next time i drive passed your place

Hey tr nice idea! I'm going for something like that. Got offered a smaller sponsor deal with Mine's. Gonna upgrade to their ECU for the DOHC and they'll help pay for my black respray. So it's looking good.
Nice idea definitely going to try out some designs after the Mine's theme is on.

dimi108
02-09-2007, 10:42 AM
hey bro for mine's I asked them. I sent an email with my car photos and details of the engine that's getting transplanted and I said I had a sponsorshop with eneos oil and sent a jpeg copy of my old contract
they got back to me today via email and said something along the lines of hello we would like to offer you a 6 month contract to our products inventory in return you must place our company theme on your vehicle and promote us within website forums and at automotive shows. our theme consists of a front left and right fender logos side door logos hood design front and rear protection bar logos and a internet link to our company website

i'm going to ask them to send me the mine's vx-rom ecu for the 6g72 and get that tuned
i haven't replied yet still writing my thank you email

reckon i shouldn't go black? howcome?
getting a bit sick of this aqua blue metallic half silver grey

what you reckon?

yann89
02-09-2007, 10:49 AM
He's right. don't go flat black.

Try find out if they'll pay for a repsray in "Phantom Mica" which is an exyremely dark charoal grey which looks like black when not in direct sunlight. I'ts on my dads car (VE Calais), and it looks SCHMICK! Flat black will bring up ANY dents or non-straight areas that are on your car, which makes it look tacky. I'll resize a pic ov the colour and post it within the next 15.

Whichever way you go, chuck some pearl in the clearcoat, makes a huge difference, this mob have really cheap stuff: paintwithpearl.com (http://www.paintwithpearl.com/), they also have an ebay store. Check the gallery to see the differences.
Personally I'd go for the small stuff, like satin or pearl, rather than the large flake stuff.
Would only add like $50 to the entire job I'd say.

dimi108
02-09-2007, 11:29 AM
sweet guys great advice
yann show us the phantom mica when you get a chance? might have to go that colour :D

that pearl looks good especially the before and after shots
so i just buy that pearl and ask the spray shop to add it in with the paint?

wonder how much a full spray job would cost too...

yann89
02-09-2007, 11:32 AM
the pics up of the phantom dude. don't know if you can se it very well. the pic doesnt do it justice.

Full colour change you're looking at about 3-4k, as they have to remove interior, engine, boot linings, they basically have to make it "factory paint-shop" style to change the colour.

Yeah? What does it look like couldn't find anything on google lol I like the look of the phantom mica looks good

Any idea how much a standard (nothing fancy) respray would cost? Don't know much about respray prices dun wanna get a respray for $5000 then find out most places would do it for $2000

yann89
02-09-2007, 03:50 PM
I got quoted on a respray SAME colour at 2000 from three different places...

dimi108
02-09-2007, 03:51 PM
Would it cost more if I want a different colour than the factory one it came with?
Is that including engine bay?

yann89
02-09-2007, 03:57 PM
Nah this was only exterior respray. as I said, same colour.

It's way more expensive if you want a colour change, which I believe is your desire, as they have to completly strip the car and change the colour (door jams (sp?), engine bay, boot rails, interior of boot etc) I got quoted 4-5K for a colour change to white from five other places.

dimi108
02-09-2007, 03:59 PM
cool thanks man i'll look into it tomorrow and see what some places quote me :)

Consider the phantom but...it's hot and isnt just some other ordinary black you get on kias and stuff...

in the sun you can see it's kinda grey too...

I agree with spraying it the phantom mica or whatever it is. A friends dad's got a VE Calais in it too and it looks great, although I've only seen it twice (as in that specific calais, I've seen it on a few VE's on the road). I think it'd look good on a 2nd gen, make you stand out a bit, in a good way.

Down side is it really shows up the dirt, so be prepared to keep her clean!

RoGuE_StreaK
02-09-2007, 04:11 PM
A big amount of the cost will depend on whether they strip it back, or you do. If you can tow it to them with everything stripped out, it should be a hell of a lot less expensive. Just depends on whether you have the spare time to pull it all apart and put it all together again, and whether you are savvy enough.
