im just curious can you get alarms fitted to your car that have GPS tracking and you can shut it down that sorta crap. How much would it be, anyone know? also what sorta alarms do people have here any aftermarket ones.

ive got the ra rhino. kick arse alarm except the sirens not loud enough. there are plenty of gps alarms available but unless your driving a $300000 car there really not worth paying out your arse for. and if your alarm is good enough there should be absolutely no need for a kill option. if anyone was skilled enough to steal my car short of hoisting it onto a tilt truck (which would still set of the alarm of course) then they would probably all have advanced degrees and not have any need with my shitty wagon. now we just gotta find some way of stopping low life scum bags throwing bricks through our windows to steal the $3 in change in the console.

so its the bees knees is it. got a microwave aswell should come in handy when i get hungry. $700 for top of the range alarm isnt to much to pay, now i have a range of what a good alarm should cost thanks.
Laserline & Autowatch aren't bad brands either.
Though I'd recommend no less than a Category 4 compliant model however!

my alarm locks itself, which is great if i forget but can get a bit annoying when you dont want it to. the unlock thing is a bit risky for me though. there are times when you wouldnt want it to, and how fricken lazy are some people anyway!!!!

You need an alarm so ******s don't smash your window just to steal $30.. Although paying $1100 is only $200 for an alarm and $900 worth of wank factor..

SuFz [/quote:8493ec070c]mate unless it includes an armed bodyguard or a very hungry rottweiler, there aint no alarm in the world thats gonna stop some desperate druggy smashing your window. only stop them driving it away.

You guys have to realise that an Alarm does not Protect you CAR. It is merely a deterrent against it being broken into or stolen. BMW has a rating of 99 out of 100(Losing the 1 point due to the lack of warning stickers) for it's security system but a professional theif can drive away in that car in under 20 seconds.
The funniest one I've ever seen was the one mmy dad has, it comes with a perimeter warning in a stern manly voice hahahahahahahaha!

An alarm is ultimately useful if you have *stuff* in the car, especially if its hi-tech stuff 8)
No it doesn't stop the thief from stealing, but if you have a decent alarm, it will deter them, and slow them down. And hopefully attract attention...
There wont be too many thiefs that will be stealing my *bolted* head unit (What I mean here is I avoided using that silly *Ezi-Install* "lets slide the head unit into a frame!" bs crap).
And I don't think too many thiefs will cope with two 120db house sirens blaring into their ears....muahahahahaha!

my alarm will play classical jazz i hope that will scare em off. the younger thiefs anyway
