Hi guys i just got a 2001 TJ EXEC 3.5l...and after a month hit the barrier in the wet, foggy late night weather... the front left is gooone! (attached)
I went to get some quotes, all the parts come to 1000 brand new fdrom mitso, and similar price from wrecker.
Pannel beaters quoted me from 6000 to 7500....teh cars only 6k!!!
Do you guys know any goodplaces ( i dont care if its dodgey, all im after is it to look good, engines running fine, rides smooth, no leaks), That are cheap?
(I'm in sydney northshore, quotes above from hornsby)
please guys, any hlp would be much appreciated...
cheers!

you might wanna check ur allighnments as well, and all your joints for cracks etc.... i cant help you with the other stuff cos im in perth, but i would recommend to try a go to a place which wont rush the job, make it look good for a week then the car falls apart, if you get my drift.

panel beaters arent trying to rip you off, theyre charging for a proper job. why not get a written quote, which will detail what they think is involved? this will tell u (and us) how major the repair work is...
at the end of the day, it aint safe for you to drive it and just replace the panels, and then the next poor sod who buys it off u coz u did a cheapass job...
that much repair work means it'll probably not survive that well in the next front on...

if you had insurance it would have costed u less than even the 4k :S

but insurance would deem it a write off at those quotes... probably coz they know its safer that way

if hes done a true 6k damage the car would have structural damage.
regardless it would still be worth making the claim. if car is a write off. get the $. buy the car off insurance company for 1-2k and fix it urself with the $ left over. you can actually make money off it and perfectly legal.

haha neg... look at my ex... 10.5k damage to the front on of a KS Verada in 2005, and it was repaired (insured for a very high agreed value), and meh, apart from they didn't straighten it correctly you couldn't tell...
Keeping in mind the price of parts, paint and labour @ $28 a hour, and $200 a panel to paint... and we allways double our times to make money at work (hah yeh im a crashie)
Really 6k is nothing...
