Hey Guys,
Wiring up a mono to 2 15" subs, do i need a 2 channel amp to run both, or do they run off one channel.
Probably a stupid and ametuer question
but lets face it
im ametuer

your mono has 2 terminals for wiring ease
if you wire it up that way it will be in 4ohm mode at 400wrms.... depending on what ohm and how many voice coils your subs are
on the rockfordfosgate web site they have a wiring calculator..
but it's a simple as wiring + to + and - to - from the amp to the speaker...
im running 4 12" subs off the same amp
+ to all subs + and - to all subs - and that works out at 1ohm where the amp can push out more than 820wrms

Look at his sig, he has a Jaycar mono and 2x Fusion 15's.
Chances are that he has 2x 4ohm coils to play which will mean that just do as above and wire the +ives to each other and to the amp and the same with the -ive's.
If he has the DVC 4 ohm subs then you wire each sub the same way +ive to +ive and -ive to -ive. Then you wire to 2 subs as above and that will produce a 1 ohm load. At this low load it will be all about power and the subs will probably sound like crap, just ask eek how much better his DD was when he changed the DVC 2ohm coils from 1ohm total to 4ohm total.

I think my procrastination levels go up proportionally with the workload at uni....damnit
Yeah, I'm gonna go and say (without research) that the subs are DVC 4 ohm, and the amp will only probably handle 2ohm anyway, so you probably can't wire up all 4 coils in parallel.
Yeah, don't bother loading it down to 1 ohm (even if it can handle it). You might get more 'power' but things like THD and dampening factors change. It'll suck.
Wire up subs in series individually, and then in parallel to the amp...you'll figure it out lol

Does anyone have a link to a website where they tell you all about resistance in car audio?

Yeah I can't remember what those powerplant ones are, I know they made DVC but I think they come in SVC as well?!?
His amp can handle a 1ohm load but as you know I am not a fan for everyday music.. He should figure it all, worse that can happen is you will blow a fuse.
www.12volt.com has lots of stuff.
