G'day guys,
I am new to the magna scene. I have just purchased myself a KS Verada i am pretty happy with in great shape. I will post some pics shortly. I was just wondering what are the best mods for these cars, not just engine although running better (read faster) would be nice but body suspension and interior mods too. Thanks

Hi there!
Welcome to AMC!
Nice job on purchasing a KS, that's got most of the mods the rest of us are looking for! lol Basically, Super Low suspension all around (And soon you'll have a guy called TUFFTR telling you to drop it 1.5 inches in the back:bowrofl: ). Tint your windows, get some new rims and that's about it really. magna's don't look good riced up (I was going to put a scoop on mine...decided against it after a while)
Good luck dude,
-Ian
*EDIT*- TUFFTR got in before me. Notice how he told you to compress the rears? bahaaha Paul you crack me up!:bowrofl:

Hey if youve got superlow fronts you either compress the rears or your car looks like a door wedge:bowrofl:

As stated, you already have the major first cosmetic changes of parabolic headlights (aka "paras") and KS grille, so you're a few steps ahead to start with.
I guess something that hasn't been mentioned yet is a Diamante front bumper, there are two types, series 1 and 2, they look nice but might be hard to find for a decent price. Expect to pay around $400 at a guess, if you can find 'em anywhere. Check Dimi08's or Lucifer's recent posts for series 2 pics.
(In case you don't know, the Magna is also called a Diamante in Japan, US, Europe, and NZ, NZ also has them as V3000's, and UK / Europe (?) had them as Sigma's)
One of the things you can do to be different is to track down bits from overseas models. Might cost a bit though.
A good start for interior mods is to replace the major bulbs with LED versions. Mainly 31mm festoons, T10, and T5 LEDs (T5 and T10 are used in the imstrument cluster). LED parkers for paras are most likely BA9S, but may possibly be T10 (T10 has a wedge base, BA9S is bayonet).
Again with interior, you already have most of the stuff that everyone else retrofits, like clock, climate control, map lights, door speaker pods, and woodgrain. Though if you don't like woodgrain, pick up some spare replacements from a wrecker and do a good job of painting them up.

Standard headlights and diamante headlights are T10 and the KS parras are a BA9S
If anyone wants a diamante series 1 front bumper with no foglights or inserts (cause i bought em all :D) its 5 mins from the corner from me, they want $150 for the bumper
im considering on selling the series 2 fog lights, both sides but no bar or inserts as theyre broken- the foggies are still in good nick from memory

Thanks for the welcome guys! When i have time i will have to check out the gallery and some of your cars! I will definitely be lowering it, i dont know how low "lows" are? I guess its a suck it and see thing...
I am chasing extractors and exhaust and get rid of that abortion of a standard exhaust!
What are the k&n panels like?
Also the multi earth thing i was reading about sounds interesting?
And yes, i am keen on the diamante front bumper. pm me your details!

Dont bother about extractors.
for the $100oish your forking out, you'll gain maybe 2-3(maybe?) kw's
hardly worth $1000
Id get everything changed from the end of the stock manifolds down
K&N panels are the go to

I've heard the redbacks work pretty well. don't ask me about model numbers etc, i went out and got my local exhaust shop and they welded a muffler on mine...i'm more than happy with the sound...lol!

basically
theres 2 boxes on your intake tubing (going from your air filter box to your engine)
you take out the boxes and replace them with gatorade lids or something. the end result is awesome, on idle and down low you wont hear anything, boot her and rev out every gear and listen to the roar!

Which Diamante, Jap or US? My Jap Daiamante paras use BA9S...
Japanese Diamante Parabolics are the same as KS parabolics.
Tufftr, along with the rest of us with NZ Diamante headlights share the front end with a European Mitsubishi Sigma.

I can send you my intake pipe, you just have to swap it in and you can enjoy fresh sound  :D

Thanks for the welcome guys! When i have time i will have to check out the gallery and some of your cars! I will definitely be lowering it, i dont know how low "lows" are? I guess its a suck it and see thing...

I have kings "low" springs with munroe gt shocks on my car atm. You can see what it looks here: http://www.adam.com.au/lliamp/magnaside1.JPG
Extractors as TuffTR said a way too expensive for the effort. There are no premade bolt on extractors for the 2nd gen V6 (but you can get them for the 4cyl  ).
I did some enquiring a while ago and most places either wern't interested or gave rough quotes of $1000+.
Oh and TuffTR is also right about the lovell superlows/lows combo. This combo was on my car when i first got it. Looks retarded so i got rid of them fairly quickly.
