Hey guys, I'm looking at getting one (or maybe even two) of these subwoofers. Anyone know what these are like? Good, Bad? what are they like compared to say a response 12" carbon kevlar.

Thanks!

Whats you budget? Those Pioneers actually sound ok when you put them in a big box. They have since been replaced with a 307 which looks to be kinda the same thing.
Go to www.pioneeraus.com.au if you want more specs on the Pioneer gear but yeah, how much you wanna spend?

budget isn't really an issue, if a sub's more money but much better i'll just save up a little longer:cool:
the newer 307C has a much weaker voice coil from what weve experienced. and sound wise, the Response kevlar is miles ahead of it. Although while the Response doesnt go too badly for loudness, the 306/7C will prove louder.

Hey mate, yeah the schematics on the response kevlar looked better, as far as quality, i have a 10 year old stock speaker system with an upgraded headunit, the difference with either that pioneer or the response kevlar is going to be astronomical.
i can get that sub with a proper dampened enclosure and a kenwood 9012 D (something similar) for a price much cheaper then buying the response amp/sub combo new. The kenwood/pioneer combo is used.
Allthough i'm considering just getting the amp and buying the response12" kevlar

Hey domenico, i can tell you right now that the 306C will crank way harder than the response cf subs. i was looking at exactly the same subs a little while ago and when put next to eachother, the difference was huge. im glad that i chose the pioneers over the jaycar, their amps are tops, but i dont vouch for the subs. a mate of mine went for the two response subs same time as i got my pioneers (about 9 months ago) and they have since been replaced with 306C's because they didnt meet the cut.
i am currently running two 306C's off of a response 4X100WRMS amp and let me tell you, it has been the best money i ever spent. all the components match up perfectly and i couldnt be happier with the end result, the system really cranks.
my setup:

Haha! i knew someone would bring up a very expensive sub, that SS15" is nearly as expensive as my entire setup!

Your input did help man! i've never heard either of these subs in a proper environment, so going on what i know about them inforcement from others = good!
Pioneer is good value for money but there are so many other brands of higher quality.

i would say pioneer would be good entry level. personally i like polk/mommo and i am anticipating the arrival of 2 12" off ebay for US$70.00 ea (rrp in australia is $299)
take a look if you like then you like if you dont then you dont. it all comes down to preferenc and budget.:D
$60 wholesale price :) generally a $90-100 street price. as said, for the price 306C's are certainly unbeatable, and if you can get a good deal on it, go for gold.

^^ not much they are discontinued... 307c retail for about $150.
For the under $200 mark, don't expect to much from a woofer. See what run out models you can get from say Hertz, Crossfire etc.

I don't see the need to get a 9xxx, well unless you are entering SPL comps. If you hear a well set up 35xx with ample power that is more than enough for normal music levels. The SQ 91xx sounds ok but there are better "SQ" subs out there. :D
