Great forum guys - has helped me many times - thanks. I have a milford steel cargo barrier I want to instal in my TS wagon. Apparently the car already has a mounting thread up behind the roof liner for the top bracket - there is nothing on the roof liner to show where this is (Unlike the child restraint points in the roof up the back which are marked by plugs). I thought it would be easy to find one in a car yard and have a look and measure up but I cant find one anywhere - been on the net all day.
Could anybody be bothered to measure how far back this point is,or even post a quick photo showing the point in relation to the pillar? Really dont want to cut the roof lining in the wrong place.
Thanks, from a newbie.

You could take down the roof lining? Undo all jesus bars on the roof, pop off the pillar covers and unscrew the screws in there, undo lights on roof and whatever else there might be that could hold it up, like rearview mirror and sun visors... Drop the headliner down and find your holes, mark it out, poke something through it like a biro and you're set.

tighten up the mount points you can see on the cargo barrier and wagon chassis
the you will be close enough to line up the roof liners if they are there

Thanks for the replies. I would rather drive a Nissan Prarie than attempt taking out the whole roof liner as I can never get trim panels back the same as original - definately one way to do it though .
I was able to find one in a used car yard and measure up. So for anybody down the track here is how to instal cargo barrier in second gen wagon (one way how to)
Mount the floor brackets using m8 x 35mm bolts into the rear (closest to the back seat) of the two threads where the cargo fastener loop is mounted. (remove original philips headed thread first)You may need a few washers to pack it out.
Measure 22 cm back from where the roof liner trim piece that runs along the top of the rear side window, meets the trim coming up from the tail gate surround. (it will make sense when you look) Put the tape on the join and measure 22 cm towards the back seat. There is a pre drilled threaded hole in the steel behind here. It is about a thumb width up from the botom of the headliner. Take a deep breath and insert a thin steel skewer, you should be able to move it around until you find the hole - before you go chopping a big hole.
Once you have found the spot take the mounting arms OFF the cargo barrier. Attach the arms to the roof holes using m10x25mm bolts and washers. Re attach arms to barrier (If you try and attach the arms while they are still on the barrier, you wont be able to get the right angle to fit the bolts) Again, you may need a few washers to get a good fit. Better than $150 to have it installed.

Huh, I woulda assumed that all wagons came standard with the holes plugged. Never paid any attention to any others. Mine came pre-barriered, so never looked into it (and yeah sorry for not helping with measurements, was the last thing on my mind on the weekend).

I just did mine with help from you!
Thanks Heaps.
Must say that the top bolts i used were 45mm long with solid 5 mil spacers x2 used to pack out and a split washer.
If some one cant measure,,,,,,,,,,well the top side trim will pull out as its only clipped in.From there 3 x gold phillips heads undo and you will have access to the area you need. There are two threads on each side about an inch apart.Use the thread closest to the front of car. It makes seance when your there!...
bye and thanks all.
Cheers
