Hi Guys, well i got my TJ VRX body kit today, and also picked up my new TH/J bumper. Anyway, i took it to a place to get a quote on spraying it.
Their quote was $800 not including fitting. Thats in Bendigo, everything seems expensive compared to melbourne. Is $800 reasonable or should i be looking to drive to melbourne and save a little?
What did others pay to get theirs painted?
The price did included painting the new front bar aswell, not just the kit.
Thank guys, any input is good inputs.

I got quoted $700 for a full colour code of my TR when it had grey bumpers... so front and rear bumpers, side mouldings, mudflaps, wing mirrrors... $800 is a ripoff.
EDIT: Upon reading Skotty's and the OP post again, you're talking about the whole bodykit, not just the front bar... For this price you're getting a great deal! (if it's fitted) :D

its a 8 or 10 peice bodykit all up isn't it? uncluding wheel arch flares... plus a front bar, so yeah I'd pay $800, at work we charge $200 a panel...
And considering its a bodykit it's a bit harder... and painters hate em lol... so i'd pay it...
As I've said before so expensive cause crash shops put the labour times up so much... they gotta pay overheads/make profits some how...
we charged my best mate $250 to spray a BA XR8 bonnet inside and out...

The things to be painted are:
TH Front Bar
2 piece front VRX Extension
2 side skirts
2 end caps
3 piece rear bar extension.
they said $800 not fitted
i need my bonnet painted too (clear coats coming off) they said +$400 for that.
So yeah, i think im just gunna go with them. Thanks guys for your replies.

I've never touched a vrx kit before, but if they are anything like the bodykits that come out stock on CE Lancers they should be a peice of cake for a back yarder to do...
The CE Lancer one I done, was a factory mitsu kit and kit clipped in with a few beeds of sikaflex...

sounds fair, but i'd be making sure it's a top quality job, ask about the warranties on their paint work.

Just took my car to the place where i got all my work on my statesman done, they are going to do it for me for $666.05. And they can do it for me next week. So thats a whole lot better than paying $800 and having to wait 4 weeks.

The place i worked at would have quoted you more than that, i think $800 is a resonable price considering they do a good job. But yeah that seems like a standard price to me.
EDIT: sorry missed that last post. Wow, 666 is a good price for all those parts to be sprayed, hope they turn out good

Yeah, me too haha. They did good on my statesman after hitting some kangaroos, and just like rolling the guards and the two tone paints. So yeah, now i just have to find some money.
